Episode Summary
Duan Banxia investigates her father's suspicious death, believing a demon is involved. Jiu Xuanye and Chi Xue hunt the Yinman, but Chu Youhuang interferes. The Yinman escapes, and Banxia crosses paths with Jiu Xuanye and Chi Xue.

"The Demon Hunter's Romance" - Episode 3: What Just Happened?!
Alright, so Duan Banxia gets home, right? Those creepy fireflies are GONE. Jiu Xuanye and Chi Xue dipped. She walks into her house and BAM, her dad's back! But something's super off. There's a weird noise, and when she checks it out, the room's trashed. Dad says he just fell. Suuure. Banxia wants to talk about Qu Manniang (the possible demon!), but Dad's all, "Nope, not coming in here." As she leaves, he's like, "Be careful out there, it's dark!" Sketchy, much?
Later, Banxia has this recurring nightmare – a boy pulling her away from bat demons and panther demons. She wakes up sweating, wondering what's real. Honestly, I'd be freaked too!
Next morning, she's excited to see her dad, but…he's DEAD. Burned to a crisp in a house he rented. The official story is a fire started in the woodshed, he got trapped, yadda yadda. Banxia's not buying it. She saw him last night! But everyone's like, "Honey, you're just in shock." She's convinced something's fishy.
Meanwhile, Jiu Xuanye and Chi Xue are on the hunt for the Yinman (the sound-loving eel demon). They know it'll want revenge for Qu Manniang. So, instead of heading back, they're camping out, waiting. Chi Xue tries to lure the Yinman with her flute playing, but it's so bad Jiu Xuanye basically tells her to stop because it's hurting more than helping.
The Yinman shows up, and just as they're about to grab it, Chu Youhuang crashes the party, accusing them of doing something evil. Girl's got her eye on Jiu Xuanye!
Back to Banxia, she and Tingzhou are playing detective in her dad's room. They find books everywhere, proving he was there. Then they notice the mirror doesn't reflect anything. Cue the spooky music! They check the fire scene and find ANOTHER non-reflective mirror. Banxia's convinced it's demon shenanigans, and her dad's not really dead.
She tries to tell everyone, but they think she's lost it. She even brings up Qu Manniang being a demon (awkward!). When she tries to prove the mirror thing, it suddenly works fine, making her look totally bonkers.
The Yinman, needing some R&R, heads to a brothel for some tunes. The music heals it. Poor musician's fingers are bleeding, but she can't stop! Chu Youhuang, still tailing Jiu Xuanye, finds the Yinman. They fight, and Chu Youhuang almost gets killed, but Jiu Xuanye saves her and captures the Yinman. Of course, she's unconscious, so she misses the whole thing.
Jiu Xuanye and Chi Xue go back to their old place, reminiscing about the good old days.
The Yinman's in a bag, but it uses its powers to suck water from a jar. Next morning, Jiu Xuanye finds the bag empty! He freaks out and finds Chi Xue eating on the street. Before he can say anything, they run into Duan Banxia and Tingzhou. Dun dun DUN!
