Spoiler Alert

Xie Tiancheng's new venture weighs heavily on his mind, even during a long-haul trucking trip with his wife, Liang Haihong. Haihong notices his distraction and tries to engage him, but she's also doing some soul-searching. She's starting to feel like she's forced a life change on Tiancheng, like "pulling a fish onto the shore."

Meanwhile, Shao Bingyi approaches Xie Tiancheng with a proposition. He points out the alarming number of drownings in the Grand Canal each year and suggests Tiancheng spearhead a volunteer rescue team. Tiancheng suspects Bingyi is looking for a story, but the idea genuinely appeals to him. He decides to discuss it with his family.

That evening, Tiancheng shares drinks with Xia Maotian by the river, discussing the rescue team idea. Maotian is hesitant but supportive. Haihong, deep in thought, realizes this is the right path for her husband. With Haihong's full support, Tiancheng establishes the rescue team, and Bingyi promptly brings in reporters, drawing attention from the whole neighborhood. The team becomes a local success, saving many lives and earning accolades, including newspaper features. However, Liu Yuling points out that the articles don't mention Maotian, leading to an awkward moment, though Maotian quickly clarifies that he's part of the team, so the team's recognition is his as well.

In a separate storyline, Ma Siyi and Xia Fenghua are chatting when Xie Wanghe suddenly appears behind Fenghua, startling her. Zhou Haikuo asks Siyi if she plans to apply to Beijing University, noting her excellent grades. Siyi, however, expresses that not everyone is interested in Beijing. Wanghe tries to convince Siyi to at least visit, but she dismisses him.

As the final semester of high school approaches, Siyi's school implements a strict boarding policy, with students required to stay on campus from Monday to Friday. Siyi applies for an exemption due to her unique circumstances, and her teacher agrees to help. Chen Rui advises Siyi to stay at school for this crucial period and even offers to lend her money for a caregiver for her family.

Trouble brews when Brother Hai photoshops Xia Fenghua's face onto an image of a woman in lingerie. The picture spreads through the school, causing a scandal. Xie Wanghe wants to report it and have the post taken down, but Haikuo discovers it's on a private forum, making removal difficult, especially since Brother Hai hints at having more compromising photos.

Fenghua is devastated, and Wanghe, enraged, confronts Brother Hai, physically assaulting him and destroying his studio equipment. At the same time, Tiancheng is being celebrated for rescuing a child, but the celebration is cut short when he receives a call about Wanghe's assault.

Shen Yong informs Tiancheng that Wanghe could face serious charges. While acknowledging Wanghe's righteous intentions, the assault is undeniable. Tiancheng, following police advice, visits Brother Hai in the hospital with gifts, but Brother Hai is furious and refuses to reconcile. Haihong rushes back, furious with Tiancheng for not protecting their child.

The neighborhood rallies to support Wanghe, collecting signatures, and the neighborhood committee and school plan to intervene. The police attempt mediation. Shao Xingchi and Zhou Haikuo return, explaining the full story to Li Yan and Xia Maotian, revealing that Wanghe acted to defend Fenghua.

Fenghua is heartbroken, and her parents vow to help the Xie family. Shao Bingyi, however, warns his son to stay out of it. The next day, Tiancheng and Haihong go to the police station, where Brother Hai's side insists on pursuing criminal charges. Haihong has a private conversation with Brother Hai, appealing to him as a mother, begging him not to ruin Wanghe's future. Brother Hai eventually agrees to drop the criminal charges, demanding 100,000 yuan in compensation, which Haihong readily accepts.
