Shen Xifan's Mother, calls unexpectedly, urging Xifan to clear her schedule and come home early. Xifan, puzzled, returns home to find her parents springing a matchmaking attempt on her. The prospective groom? A young, handsome traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) doctor, introduced by one of Shen's Father's college buddies. Despite Xifan's protests, her parents' persistent nagging wins, and she reluctantly agrees.
The next day, Xifan visits the TCM clinic for a check-up and returns He Suye's freshly laundered shirt. He Suye awkwardly yet sincerely apologizes for his sudden hug during her previous visit, but Xifan brushes it off, saying that's what friends are for. Xifan then vents to He Suye about her parents' marriage pressure. He Suye misinterprets this, believing Xifan is already engaged to her boyfriend, leaving him feeling downhearted.
Yu Liren, noticing Xifan leaving the TCM clinic, gets curious and asks He Suye about their progress. He Suye, mentioning Xifan's supposed impending marriage, admits he's given up any romantic notions. However, he can't understand why she'd marry a man who doesn't treat her well. Liren chalks it up to love clouding people's judgment, even the smartest ones.
Meanwhile, He Suye helps his junior colleague, Fang Kexin, revise her thesis. Kexin, clearly distracted, invites him to dinner, but He Suye politely declines. Li Jie then approaches He Suye, asking him to go on a blind date in his place. He Suye refuses, advising Li Jie to be upfront with his parents if he's not interested.
Stuck with his parents' wishes, Li Jie meets his blind date: Shen Xifan. Both quickly establish they're not looking for marriage, leading to a surprisingly relaxed and enjoyable conversation. Back at the clinic, Li Jie returns from his date. He Suye, finished with his appointments, inquires about the date and is shocked to learn the woman was Shen Xifan. He realizes she's broken up with her boyfriend. Remembering Xifan's earlier complaints about her parents' matchmaking, He Suye is thrilled, realizing he can now pursue her without reservations.
Xifan is busy overseeing the setup of hotel rooms, taking a few leftover flowers. Lin Yishen playfully gives one to Xu Xiangya, who, despite her outward disdain, is secretly pleased. Later, He Suye, skateboarding, bumps into Xifan on her way home. He offers to perform moxibustion (a TCM therapy) on her, and she happily agrees, curious about his unusually cheerful mood.
Xu Xiangya overhears Lin Yishen talking to his parents on the phone, learning he's agreed to an arranged marriage, which upsets her. Watching Yishen charm a female guest, Xiangya's jealousy flares. Xifan notices, suspecting Xiangya has feelings for Yishen.
The Gu Nan Hua Ting Hotel is preparing for a large tour group from a neighboring province – wealthy, Retired seniors. During a meeting, the management emphasizes catering to the guests' needs, including physiotherapy and wellness services. Xifan immediately suggests incorporating TCM elements into everything from dining to accommodations.
The management loves Xifan's idea and asks for a detailed proposal. Xiangya teases Xifan about her obvious progress with He Suye. Xifan promptly contacts He Suye, inviting him to dinner and to discuss something important later that evening. He Suye readily agrees, gathering medicinal herbs to prepare a special meal for her.
