Spoiler Alert
Lipstick Therapy & Family Feels
Ling Miaomiao drags Mu Yao into a girly bonding session over rouge and lip tints, only to get hit with a wave of homesickness for her mom back in the modern world. Mu Yao—mistaking her "other world" talk as poetic grief—opens up about her OWN mommy issues. Turns out, being born into the demon-slaying Mu family isn’t all glory and heroics (who knew?). Cue the chaos: Ling snatches Liu Fuyi from the hallway to gift Mu Yao a grasshopper origami he made (romance hack unlocked!). "Ugh, the book version of this scene was so cringe," Ling mutters, already over the cliché.
Sibling Rivalry: Passive-Aggressive Edition
Outside, Mu Sheng fumes like a jealous puppy. How dare this random girl make Mu Yao laugh when he struggles to crack a smile from his stoic sister? Ling, sensing his saltiness, does the smart thing: She clings to Mu Yao like a koala and forces Mu Sheng to APOLOGIZE while smugly making eye contact. The best part? Mu Yao orders her brother to peel fruit for Ling as penance (petty victory achieved!). But Mu Sheng strikes back later, chasing Ling to "give her a massage" (read: revenge torture).
Demonology 101 (with Extra Sass)
When dust-sized "Chen Yao" demons flutter by, Ling geekily asks about stronger monsters. Mu Sheng rolls his eyes—"Amateur"—but Mu Yao forces him to explain. Turns out, the ultimate Big Bad is the Level 9 "Resentful Lady," and Mu Yao vows to destroy her at all costs. Meanwhile, Mu Sheng flashbacks to childhood trauma: a voice claiming to be his mother… and the Resentful Lady herself. Dun-dun-DUUUN!
System Sabotage & Arson Anxiety
Ling’s night takes a turn when her annoying system orders her to sneak into Mu Yao’s room and burn the precious Hundred Demons Atlas—a Mu family heirloom that’s key to tracking the Resentful Lady. In the original story, this plot device was torched by the ridiculous Lin Yu to "save" Mu Yao from Liu Fuyi. Ling’s internal monologue: "This is so dumb. WHY AM I DOING THIS?!"
Cat Burglar + Murder Loop
After eavesdropping on a heartwarming Mu sibling convo ("Ling’s my first real friend!"), guilt-ridden Ling almost chickens out… until the system drops a literal meteor on her (rude). Third time’s the charm: She burns a corner of the scroll, flees, and gets murdered by Mu Sheng THREE TIMES in a time-loop nightmare. On Attempt #4, she grabs his murder-ready hand and blurts, "I LIKE YOU!" Mu Shengs.exe stops functioning. Newbie quest: Survived!
Truth Serum Drama
The next morning, chaos erupts as the burnt scroll fragment is found. Mu Sheng, now suspicious of everyone, forces Liu Fuyi and Ling to take a "Truth Curse" (no lies allowed!). Liu, ever the knight, calls Mu Sheng paranoid—but Mu Yao’s brother won’t back down. Meanwhile, Ling nervously offers Mu Yao jewelry as a peace offering. Girl, good luck with that.
