Qi Ji is promoted to Deputy Director. Zhang Chi plans to propose but is interrupted by a major bus accident. After the rescue, Qi Ji finds the ring and Zhang Chi proposes successfully. As the New Year approaches, Director Lu makes staff arrangements, including the reveal of Qi Ji's promotion to Deputy Director of the emergency center. Her colleagues celebrate with her, and Director Lu nudges Qi Ji and Zhang Chi to tie the knot soon, while Huang Hao also expresses his wish to settle down with Dong Xiaoqiu.
Zhang Beihai volunteers at a local community center, providing check-ups and first-aid education to the elderly. Meanwhile, Qi Ji and her colleagues go out for a celebratory dinner. Zhang Chi steps out to buy drinks, and Qi Ji, concerned by his long absence, finds him gazing at a wedding dress. Zhang Chi admits he wants to buy it for her, but Qi Ji playfully drags him back to the restaurant.
During his community service, Zhang Beihai identifies an elderly man suffering from heart failure and calls 120. Zhang Chi's team responds, transporting the patient to the hospital with Zhang Beihai accompanying them. Zhang Chi, wanting to surprise Qi Ji with a gift, seeks advice from Xu Chengyuan, Zheng Bo, and Sun Jiaqi. Sun Jiaqi suggests a proposal, which Zhang Chi enthusiastically embraces.
Zhang Chi buys a ring and prepares for the proposal, but an emergency call interrupts his plans. A major traffic accident occurs on a highway overpass, involving a bus carrying 38 passengers. The emergency center mobilizes all personnel, including five ambulance teams. Zhang Chi works tirelessly to rescue the injured, while Qi Ji assists a pregnant woman in delivering a baby girl. After the intense rescue operation, Zhang Chi realizes his ring is missing. He frantically searches for it, but Qi Ji has already found it. She encourages him to propose, and amidst their cheering colleagues, Zhang Chi gets down on one knee. Qi Ji accepts, to the applause of their team.
On New Year's Eve, Zhang Chi brings Qi Ji, Xu Chengyuan, Yan Yunyun, Zheng Bo, and Sun Jiaqi to a seaside camping trip. Zheng Bo suggests everyone share their New Year's wishes. He wants to marry Sun Jiaqi, who happily agrees. Qi Ji wishes for everyone's health and happiness, while Zhang Chi hopes all of Qi Ji's wishes come true. As the New Year's countdown culminates in a fireworks display, the three couples embrace their new beginnings, with Qi Ji and Zhang Chi holding hands.
Director Dai returns Zhang Chi's cardiology research materials, suggesting he return to his previous department. Zhang Chi is uncertain and wants to discuss it with Qi Ji. However, Qi Ji receives an emergency call and, while preparing to respond, collapses. She asks Gao Xing to take her place.
Gao Xing receives a call from his wife, learning she's experiencing heavy bleeding. He instructs her to call 120 and rushes to the scene of Qi Ji's call, where a child has swallowed a foreign object. Gao Xing uses the Heimlich maneuver to save the child and takes them to the hospital. After settling the child, he rushes to his wife's side.
Tragically, Gao Xing's wife loses their baby due to excessive bleeding. Gao Xing is devastated, and his wife is inconsolable. Qi Ji learns she has suffered a severe meniscus injury, a result of long-term stress and improper exercise. The doctor warns her against strenuous activity to avoid surgery.
Qi Ji returns home late, and Zhang Chi, aware of her fall, shows his concern. Qi Ji, worried about her future as an emergency doctor, subtly probes Zhang Chi's opinion. He believes she's perfectly suited for the job, and losing her would be a significant loss to the center. Qi Ji keeps her medical condition a secret.
The next day, Qi Ji learns that Gao Xing's wife miscarried because he was attending to the child Qi Ji was supposed to help. Overwhelmed with guilt, Qi Ji and Zhang Chi visit Gao Xing's wife with gifts, offering apologies. Gao Xing's wife, heartbroken, forces them to leave. Gao Xing explains the situation, but Qi Ji sees his forced cheerfulness. He even contemplates quitting emergency medicine, deepening Qi Ji's remorse.
