Spoiler Alert

In this episode, things get awkward fast. Director Lu orchestrates what Xu Chengyuan believes is a blind date with Sun Jiaqi. It turns out Director Lu has actually set them up with other people. The intended dates arrive, but they quickly realize they're not compatible with Chengyuan or Jiaqi. Hilariously, the two blind dates hit it off with each other, leaving Chengyuan and Jiaqi to quietly exit, sharing a knowing smile about the unexpected matchmaking success.

Meanwhile, Dandan's heart transplant surgery is a success. Zhang Chi and Qi Ji visit her, finding Dandan's mother and Yangyang's mother (Yangyang was the donor) taking care of her. It is revealed that, Yangyang's mother went to great lengths to find and help Dandan, even though regulations prevent donor and recipient families from meeting. This act of kindness led to a painful divorce for Yangyang's mother, after a falling out with her husband over the donation. Zhang Chi feels guilty, realizing his encouragement to Yangyang's mother may have inadvertently caused her divorce. He confides in Secretary Li, only to discover that Qi Ji was also penalized (with a bonus deduction) for her role in persuading Yangyang's mother. Qi Ji returns after completing her studies, and Director Lu asks her to share her experiences.

Zhang Chi buys cream cakes for his colleagues, but Qi Ji declines, citing a dislike for cream. Zhang Chi then spends his lunch break searching multiple shops, finally finding cream-free cookies and biscuits. However, Qi Ji remains unimpressed and even mocks him. Payday arrives, bringing mixed feelings to the emergency center staff. Chen Xue complains about her low salary, and Zhang Chi learns that emergency doctors must pass a hospital-wide exam to advance, a policy he finds unfair.

A delivery driver, Hua Zi, arrives at the emergency center, also offering to buy daily necessities for the staff. Zhang Chi is added to the group chat. Zhang Chi starts to develop a fondness for Qi Ji, noticing her dedication, responsibility, and warmth towards her colleagues.

The city hosts a marathon, and the emergency center dispatches medical personnel. Xu Chengyuan is stationed at a checkpoint, while Zheng Bo follows the runners in an ambulance. When a runner suffers a muscle strain, Zheng Bo contacts Chengyuan, who quickly provides treatment. The runner, ignoring their advice, continues the race. Another runner collapses due to a heart condition, and Zheng Bo rushes to his aid. A young runner experiences cardiac arrest, and a volunteer performs CPR. Qi Ji and Zhang Chi, alerted by the command center, arrive immediately and successfully revive the runner. Qi Ji discovers the runner has a broken rib. The runner's parents angrily confront the volunteer, threatening legal action. Zhang Chi explains that the volunteer's quick action saved their son's life. The police arrive and educate the parents about Good Samaritan laws, leaving them embarrassed. Xu Chengyuan arrives, relieved to see Qi Ji and the others safe. He instructs Zhang Chi to keep him updated on Qi Ji, revealing his feelings for her, though he forbids Zhang Chi from prying.

Qi Ji's father, Qi Xuejun, is actively seeking a suitable partner for her, favoring Qu Yufan. Coincidentally, Yufan is developing a rescue-related software and decides to visit Qi Ji for advice. Qi Ji takes Zhang Chi and their colleagues to Grandpa Liang's noodle Restaurants. Zhang Chi is moved to learn that Grandpa Liang provides free breakfast to sanitation workers, having adjusted his opening time to 4 AM to accommodate them and the workers.
