This episode of "The Top Speed" throws our emergency medical team into a chaotic beachfront rescue. Qi Ji and Zhang Chi rush to save a young boy, Chaochao, who's unconscious after nearly drowning. The incident triggers a painful memory for Qi Ji, reminding her of her friend Jiayi's tragic death from drowning due to delayed medical attention. Shaken, Qi Ji momentarily loses focus, but Zhang Chi's quiet prompting helps her regain composure and continue the resuscitation efforts. Chaochao's condition is critical, and his mother is understandably frantic.

Meanwhile, another young girl is also pulled from the water, unconscious. Zhang Chi immediately attends to her, and after persistent effort, he successfully revives her, earning applause and cheers from the onlookers. Witnessing this, Chaochao's mother becomes even more agitated, accusing Qi Ji and nurse Dong Xiaoqiu of inadequate care. She demands that Zhang Chi take over. Dong Xiaoqiu, drenched in sweat from performing CPR, is unfairly targeted. The crowd starts to defend Qi Ji and Dong Xiaoqiu, but Chaochao's mother is inconsolable. Qi Ji tries to reason with her, but the mother lashes out, pushing Dong Xiaoqiu away and even slapping Qi Ji across the face, leaving a deep scratch with her fingernail.

Zhang Chi arrives to defuse the situation. Finally, thanks to Dong Xiaoqiu's continued efforts, Chaochao regains consciousness. Qi Ji arranges for Chaochao to be transported to the hospital. However, more drama unfolds when Chaochao's mother refuses to pay the 300 yuan deposit. Qi Ji's explanations are futile. Zhang Chi, infuriated, confronts the mother, but it's Xu Chengyuan who arrives and manages to calm her down by falsely claiming Qi Ji and Zhang Chi are heads of the emergency center, emphasizing how lucky Chaochao was to have them.

Later, Sun Jiaqi, hearing about the assault on Qi Ji, confronts Chaochao's mother, who remains unapologetic. Zhang Chi and Director Lu are furious, and Zhang Chi threatens to call the police. Chaochao's father finally arrives, apologizing profusely and promising to make amends with Qi Ji.

Xu Chengyuan checks on Qi Ji, sharing his own past experience of being assaulted by a patient when he first started at the emergency center. He advises Dong Xiaoqiu on improving communication skills with patients, acknowledging the gender bias that female doctors like her and Qi Ji often face.

Zhang Chi orders takeout, which Hua Zi delivers. Xu Chengyuan asks Dong Xiaoqiu to deliver it to Qi Ji, pretending he ordered it especially for her. Dong Xiaoqiu, after some persuasion, agrees and discovers that the food is Qi Ji's favorite. Meanwhile, Qi Xuejun, Qi Ji's father, is trying to set her up with Qu Yufan. Qu Yufan visits Qi Xuejun, cooking an elaborate Western meal. Qi Xuejun calls Qi Ji, urging her to come home early, but Qi Ji makes excuses, with Zhang Chi covering for her, claiming there's an emergency call. Qi Xuejun is left to dine with Qu Yufan, who expresses his desire to visit Qi Ji later.

After dinner, Qu Yufan helps clean up, impressing Qi Xuejun. However, Qi Xuejun's wife feels Qu Yufan isn't a good match for Qi Ji and warns her husband not to interfere. After her shift, Qi Ji returns to the dorm, and Zhang Chi helps her apply a medicinal patch. Qu Yufan arrives with snacks for everyone, making Zhang Chi visibly jealous.

Qu Yufan expresses concern for Qi Ji's injury. Chen Xue teases them, calling Qu Yufan "brother-in-law." Qi Ji firmly clarifies that Qu Yufan is a longtime friend of her father and should be addressed as "Uncle," leaving Qu Yufan embarrassed and prompting him to leave.

Zhang Chi visits Qi Ji in the dorm, offering to apply ice to her face. He wakes her up and thanks her for convincing Yangyang's mother to donate her heart. Qi Ji downplays her role. Sun Jiaqi, whose roommate is away, invites Qi Ji to stay at her place, as Qi Ji is avoiding her parents due to her facial injury. Sun Jiaqi helps treat the wound and casually asks about Qu Yufan, but Qi Ji denies any romantic involvement.

On his day off, Zhang Chi asks Xu Chengyuan to teach him communication techniques, hoping to better protect Qi Ji in the future. Xu Chengyuan and Zhang Chi transport a patient to the hospital, but there's a delay in getting a bed. Suddenly, they receive a call about an elderly woman who fell in the street. A bed finally becomes available, and they rush to the scene. The patient's family complains about their slow arrival, but Xu Chengyuan patiently explains the situation and provides attentive care to both the patient and her family, earning their praise. Zhang Chi witnesses Xu Chengyuan's skillful handling of the situation, realizing the importance of effective communication.

Early the next morning, Qi Xuejun and his wife Zeng Li bring breakfast for Qi Ji. They see the exhausted medical staff after their night shift and feel sympathetic. When they see Qi Ji's facial injury, they demand an explanation. Qi Ji finally admits she was scratched by a patient's family member.
