Later, at North of the city Hospital, he witnessed the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery patiently explaining a patient's condition, highlighting the power of effective communication. Qi Ji gives Zhang Chi a thumbs-up drawing for his insights, and he responds with a shy smiley face. Meanwhile, Yang Yang's mother undergoes a successful kidney transplant. Dan Dan's mother, who is caring for her, calls Qi Ji and Zhang Chi, who rush to the hospital. They learn that Yang Yang's mother had chronic kidney disease, exacerbated by the loss of Yang Yang and her divorce. Because Yang Yang donated his heart to Dan Dan, his mother received priority for a kidney transplant. Zhang Chi and Qi Ji are overjoyed for her.
Zhang Chi and Qi Ji learn more about Yang Yang's mother's condition from Dan Dan's mother. A TV host, Cheng Xiaoyan, arrives at the emergency center to film a documentary. Director Lu introduces her to the staff. Doctor Cui eagerly volunteers to be the star, but Cheng Xiaoyan considers him too old, disappointing him. Doctor Cui had promised his daughter, Dong Dong, that he'd be on TV as a birthday gift, but he has to explain the situation to her over the phone, which Zhang Chi and Qi Ji witness.
Cheng Xiaoyan chooses Zhang Chi and Qi Ji as the main subjects of her documentary. Xu Chengyuan, a fan of Cheng Xiaoyan, tries to get involved, but she refuses. Xu Chengyuan had previously treated Cheng Xiaoyan's father, who unfortunately passed away. Although Cheng Xiaoyan was initially angry, she now understands and thanks Xu Chengyuan for giving her time to process the pain.

Director Dai calls Zhang Chi with good news: a foreign cardiothoracic expert is giving a lecture, and Director Dai has arranged for Zhang Chi to meet him. However, Zhang Chi is on duty and unable to leave.
