Episode Summary
Xie Xuechen saves Mu Xuanling by taking on her injuries from a curse, transferring it to himself. A misunderstanding arises between Gao Qiumin and Fu Lansheng. Xie Xuechen erases Mu Xuanling's infractions to prevent her expulsion. Mu Xuanling is reminded of her mission to kill Xie Xuechen. Gao Qiumin apologizes to Mu Xuanling. The Immortal Alliance discusses the selection of a new leader.

The episode opens with Mu Xuanlinggravely injured, lying on the ground. Xie Xuechenrushes to her side, and she tells him that she is in a lot of pain. He picks her up and carries her away. Gao Qiuminwatches them leave, muttering that she didn't mean to hurt Mu Xuanling. She's then startled by Fu Lansheng , who appears behind her. Fu Lansheng observes that while Gao Qiumin and Xie Xuechen were supposed to be engaged, Xie Xuechen seems entangled with Mu Xuanling. He offers comfort, but Gao Qiumin is more worried that he saw her injure Mu Xuanling.
This misunderstanding marks the end of their conversation. Gao Qiumin quickly departs, taking both her sword and Mu Xuanling's. Soon after, members of the Xuantian Gate arrive, finding the scene deserted. Their leader notes that Mu Xuanling must have been rescued, as she wouldn't have fled if she were strong enough to fight them.
Xie Xuechen tends to Mu Xuanling, who is now bedridden and in pain. He attempts to heal her with his spiritual energy, but she can't absorb it. He recalls her telling him about her damaged spiritual core, which prevents her from cultivating spiritual energy. Realizing she can neither cultivate nor absorb energy, Xie Xuechen makes a drastic decision.
He takes Mu Xuanling's hand and transfers the painful "Yan curse" from her body to his own. Her injuries heal instantly. Nan Xuyuewitnesses this and comments on Xie Xuechen's sacrifice. Xie Xuechen explains that his jade amulet protects him from the worst of the pain, but Mu Xuanling couldn't endure it. He states that he brought Mu Xuanling to Yongxue City and is therefore responsible for her. He then asks Nan Xuyue to watch over her, claiming it's inappropriate for him to stay, and leaves.
Nan Xuyue, watching Xie Xuechen depart, remarks that loving someone like him is exhausting. Xie Xuechen, alone, manages to repair the damage from the Yan curse. His disciple arrives, questioning the worth of such a sacrifice. Xie Xuechen asks about Mu Xuanling's recent behavior, and the disciple informs him that she's close to being expelled from Yongxue City due to her repeated infractions. Xie Xuechen takes the record book and erases all her misdeeds, telling the disciple that he's supposed to be watching over Mu Xuanling, not recording her mistakes.
Mu Xuanling wakes up and realizes Xie Xuechen brought her back. Hearing someone approach, she quickly pretends to be asleep. Nan Xuyue enters with food. She asks about Xie Xuechen, and Nan Xuyue informs her that he's dealing with an intrusion by the Dark Clan. He also reveals that Xie Xuechen took on her pain by transferring the Yan curse to himself. Mu Xuanling, feigning indifference, says she didn't ask him to, and attempts to go to Xie Xuechen, but Nan Xuyue stops her, pointing out that it won't help.
Meanwhile, Xie Xuechen is meeting with the leader of the Xuantian Gate to discuss the Dark Clan infiltration. They suspect an inside collaborator. The Xuantian leader assigns his junior, Xuan Xin, to work with Xie Xuechen to find the traitor.
Later, Mu Xuanling, finding Xie Xuechen's room too cold, decorates it with plants. Suddenly, Sang Qi pulls her into an illusion. He reminds her of her mission: kill Xie Xuechen and steal the Chaos Pearl. Mu Xuanling wakes up crying, having decided to sacrifice her own life to save Xie Xuechen.
Gao Qiumin hesitates outside Mu Xuanling's door, wanting to apologize. Mu Xuanling appears behind her. Gao Qiumin apologizes and gives her a magical artifact that creates pleasant dreams. That night, Mu Xuanling dreams of happy times with Xie Xuechen. Meanwhile, Xie Xuechen and the Immortal Alliance discuss the selection of a new alliance leader.
