Spoiler Alert
The episode opens with Mu Xuanling unable to sleep, restlessly lying awake. Xie Xuechen notices and asks if she's worried about him. She brushes it off, denying any concern. Xie Xuechen, ever the protector, announces he'll check on the Longevity Lotus again tomorrow, urging her to stay behind due to the potential danger. He even mentions that their magically-bound "Thread of Fate" would dissolve if he died, a morbid thought that Mu Xuanling finds darkly amusing.
The next day, they both head to the lotus's location, only to encounter Venerable Feng Xiang again. Strangely, Feng Xiang doesn't recognize them and repeats the exact same words from the previous day. Xie Xuechen realizes that Feng Xiang seems to have lost her short-term memory.
After a brief conversation, during which they reveal their desire for the lotus seed's core, Feng Xiang orders them to leave. They hide behind a tree to observe her. Mu Xuanling accidentally makes a noise, and Xie Xuechen, fearing they'll be discovered, pulls her close. When they look back, Feng Xiang has vanished. Xie Xuechen notes the absence of any spiritual energy, suggesting she's truly gone. They decide to search for her.
They find Feng Xiang lying on a large stone, and they reason that if she had consumed the lotus, the core might be nearby. As they approach, a blue light emanates from Feng Xiang's body.
Suddenly, Qian Guang Jun emerges from her. Mu Xuanling is startled, unsure if he's a person or a ghost. Xie Xuechen immediately recognizes him. Qian Guang Jun asks how Xie Xuechen knew who he was. Xie Xuechen explains that historical records describe Qian Guang Jun and Venerable Feng Xiang as cultivation partners, or cultivation partners. He admits that seeing Feng Xiang had sparked his suspicion, but he's still surprised to actually meet Qian Guang Jun. Qian Guang Jun remarks that it's been six thousand years, and he would have lost track of time if not for their reminder.
Xie Xuechen asks if Feng Xiang is trapped in a cycle due to consuming the Longevity Lotus. Qian Guang Jun confirms his theory. He explains that Feng Xiang awakens at sunrise each day, only to forget everything by sunset. Mu Xuanling realizes that this is how she's lived for six thousand years, yet for her, it's only been a single day. Qian Guang Jun comments on the irony of immortality – it comes at a steep price.
He reveals that someone previously sought immortality through dark magic. He explains that Feng Xiang's longevity wasn't immediate. She first entered a forbidden magical zone. Qian Guang Jun shares that cultivators with sealed spiritual forms must endure 38,000 gusts of Strong Wind to reach the end of a high ladder, facing immense trials before meeting the High God Lun Jing. Being of the Divine Clan, the High God stated he was waiting for someone, possibly not even human. Mu Xuanling questions the existence of the Divine Clan, mentioning their supposed imprisonment and the rise of the Dark Clan. She wonders why the Divine Clan, who supposedly abandoned humanity, still have a presence. Qian Guang Jun insists that he met Lun Jing Shangshen, whose immense power could only belong to a member of the Divine Clan.
Qian Guang Jun and Feng Xiang were once deeply in love but never confessed their feelings, leading to a tragic separation. After a long search, he found her in her current state. He, too, consumed the Longevity Lotus to reach Lun Jing Shangshen, wishing to accompany Feng Xiang every day. As a result, Qian Guang Jun became Feng Xiang's shadow, able to appear only at night.
Xie Xuechen asks Qian Guang Jun for a lotus seed, explaining that he wants to save someone who suffers constant pain from consuming Wu Xin water. Qian Guang Jun gives him a lotus seed, and Mu Xuanling consumes it. Upon doing so, she recovers all her memories of being with Xie Xuechen. The two embraced, crying with joy. At that moment, Nan Xuyue arrives, but Mu Xuanling clearly begins avoiding him.

After facing identity conflicts, amnesia, and misunderstandings, they reunite under the Xuanling tree. Xie Xuechen returns as "Xie Xuechen," using his demonic energy to make the tree blossom, symbolizing their love that transcends race and reincarnation. Their bond is deep: Mu Xuanling is the reincarnation of Goddess A'zhu, and Xie Xuechen is a part of Demon Lord Zhaoming. Their love story spans millennia, ultimately breaking free from time constraints, choosing to be together as mortals.

The ending hints that he breaks through the suppression with the power of chaos and returns to the modern time to reunite with Mu Xuanling.
