Fu Lansheng, from the wealthy Bixiao Palace, gifts Mu Xuanling artifacts. A'bao, Mu Xuanling's spirit beast, calls Fu Lansheng "Daddy" mistakenly, mentioning her real father, Fu Cangli. The episode opens with Mu Xuanling sitting apart from the gathering of the Immortal Alliance. Nan Xuyue approaches, questioning her claim of illness to Elder Cang, given her presence. Mu Xuanling explains her aversion to the Immortal Alliance members and asks why Nan Xuyue isn't participating. He states he's not part of the Alliance and thus uninterested. She then voices her concern about her internal demonic energy being detected. Nan Xuyue reassures her that his spirit ink sigil will hide it under normal circumstances. When she presses about abnormal circumstances, he cryptically suggests it depends on her luck. Mu Xuanling adds that she'd rather avoid Su Ningzhen of the Xuantian Gate, more than anyone from the Immortal Alliance.
Mu Xuanling remarks that fate always brings rivals together. Nan Xuyue confirms her past conflict with a Gao cultivator at Mingyue Manor. A flashback reveals a traumatic event where Sang Qi attacked the Gao family. Gao Qiumin's father forced Mu Xuanling to switch clothes with his daughter, claiming it was an "honor" for her to die in Gao Qiumin's place. The scene shifts to the arrival of various Immortal Alliance sects in Yongxue City, including the wealthy Bixiao Palace. Nan Xuyue introduces Mu Xuanling to Bixiao Palace's young master, Fu Lansheng. Fu Lansheng, upon seeing Nan Xuyue, gets permission from his mother, Duan Xiaorong, to greet him.
Fu Lansheng, known for his family's wealth, joins Nan Xuyue and Mu Xuanling. Upon meeting Mu Xuanling, he showers her with newly acquired magical artifacts as gifts. Mu Xuanling hesitates, but Nan Xuyue encourages her to accept, given Fu Lansheng's abundance of such items. Suddenly, A'bao, Mu Xuanling's spirit beast, calls out "Daddy!" startling Fu Lansheng. A'bao declares her father is the richest cultivator. Fu Lansheng corrects her, stating that title belongs to his father. When A'bao names her father as Fu Cangli, Fu Lansheng, intrigued, promises to investigate, as the name sounds familiar within Bixiao Palace. He then bids them farewell.
Inside, the Immortal Alliance discusses serious matters. Xie Xuechen reveals his father's death, prompting the Bixiao Palace couple to blame Sang Qi and the Xiuxian Pavilion. They vow revenge, but Xie Xuechen focuses on the Chaos Pearl, the enemy's likely target. He proposes electing a new alliance leader to safeguard the pearl. The Alliance unanimously supports Xie Xuechen, but he declines, citing his incomplete recovery. Su Ningzhen volunteers, sparking immediate opposition and a brief fight, halted by the Xuantian Gate leader. Xie Xuechen postpones the decision, offering lodging to the Alliance members.
Su Ningzhen instructs Gao Qiumin to learn, promising her a future leadership position. Meanwhile, Sang Qi orders Chi Ying to warn Mu Xuanling. Chi Ying possesses someone in Yongxue City. A'bao senses the Dark Clan's presence, alerting Mu Xuanling and Nan Xuyue. Mu Xuanling investigates alone, confronting the possessed individual. Gao Qiumin, misinterpreting the situation, attacks Mu Xuanling. A Xuantian Gate spell further injures her, triggering a memory of Mu Xuanling defeating opponents to reach Sang Qi.
