Spoiler Alert
This episode sees Ka Men playing tour guide to a foreign visitor, Jim. After showing him the sights like the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Huangpu River, Jim expresses a desire to see the everyday life of Chinese people. Ka Men takes him to her family's wonton shop, where he enjoys the food so much he finishes every last drop of soup. Ka Men's mother, along with Chen Xiu'e, are nearby and beaming with pride at how much the foreigner is enjoying the authentic Chinese cuisine.
Meanwhile, Qian Kang bursts in, excitedly waving a newspaper. The photo of them at the flight attendant selection event has made the front page! Zhang Qiming, wanting to preserve the memory, buys a whole stack of newspapers. The group is overjoyed, and they ask Ka Men's mother to put the photos up in the restaurant so that every customer can see them.
However, Ka Men's mother has some somber news. Business at the wonton shop has been slow, especially since a new, larger restaurant opened across the street. After careful consideration, she and Liu Songming have decided to close the shop. The announcement saddens the close-knit group of friends, who cherish the shop as their gathering place. Chen Xiu'e even sheds tears at the thought of losing their usual hangout. Liu Songming tries to reassure everyone, suggesting they could open a dance studio or a grocery store in its place – the important thing is that they can still be together.
The European delegation's visit to the school is coming to an end. At the farewell party, Jim, the foreign visitor Ka Men hosted, publicly praises Ka Men's excellent English and her embodiment of the warm and genuine spirit of Chinese girls. He then performs a guitar rendition of "Jasmine Flower" and presents Ka Men with a bracelet, much to the delight and envy of the audience. Ka Men has never received such an honor before.
Before leaving, Jim reveals to Ka Men that he had originally planned a simple speech of praise, but Lu Yao suggested the guitar performance. Ka Men realizes that Lu Yao isn't just interested in superficially beautiful girls. She worries that she's like the little match girl, destined to burn through all her matches for a fleeting moment of light, but Lu Yao reassures her that she's not. He tells her that every time she smiles, she lights up many little stars.
Ka Men asks Lu Yao to help promote their wonton shop. Lu Yao, who had previously interned as a journalist at a TV station, brings in a reputable and influential news crew to interview Ka Men's mother and Ai Ping, along with others who had tried out to be flight attendants. They share their stories of struggle, ambition, family, and relationships from their generation. The program is a hit, deeply moving many viewers who then flock to the wonton shop, revitalizing the business.
Chang Wuji, despite living quite far from the wonton shop, starts frequently riding his bicycle there to buy wontons and go to school with Qian Jiayue and the others. Ka Men notices that Chang Wuji might have feelings for Qian Jiayue and discreetly asks him about it. Chang Wuji is unsure, so Ka Men, wanting to help him understand his own feelings, starts creating opportunities for him and Qian Jiayue to spend time together alone.
One day, Ka Men intentionally practices shot put with Zhang Mo, allowing Chang Wuji and Qian Jiayue to head home first. Just as they leave the school gates, they run into Mao Tou. Mao Tou, with his backpack, greets Qian Jiayue, claiming he was just passing by to check out the school he'll be attending in the future.
