Spoiler Alert
In this episode, Qian Jiayue, along with her friends Ka Men and Chen Mo, heads to a fishing village for a school publication project. News of a once-in-a-century meteor shower has everyone excited, and the trio plans to combine their research with some stargazing.
Meanwhile, Mao Tou, now in high school, finds himself caught in the middle of typical teenage curiosity. Some of his classmates get their hands on some "adult" content (a stack of discs – remember those?), and Mao Tou, having a player at home, sneaks it to the old family house for a secret viewing party. However, his father, Zhang Qiming, discovers the locked door and the nervous group of boys inside. He finds the player is running hot, ejects the disc, and instantly understands what's going on. Zhang Qiming gives Mao Tou a serious punishment to teach him a lesson.
The contraband originally belonged to Wang Bin. He's afraid of his parents finding it. After Mao Tou gets in trouble, Wang Bin gets worried, and convinces the straight-laced Xiao Han to hold onto it, figuring his "good student" reputation will keep it safe. Xiao Han, despite being warned not to look, gets curious and takes a peek. He is shocked and quickly hides the disc under a pile of books when he hears his mother approaching.
On the family front, Chen Mo's father, Chen Pengyu, receives a job promotion that requires relocation. His wife, Fang Fang, is strongly against the move. She's built a stable life, a good job, and close friendships, and doesn't want to uproot their daughter, Chen Mo, right before her college entrance exams. She confides in her close friends, including Ka Men's mother and Chen Xiu'e, who offer various pieces of advice, from being submissive to taking a hard line.
The tension escalates when Fang Fang learns that Chen Pengyu has already accepted the transfer and even arranged for Chen Mo's new school and a new job for Fang Fang. Feeling completely disregarded, Fang Fang confronts Chen Pengyu, accusing him of always making decisions without her input. The argument ends with Chen Pengyu storming out.
By chance, Chen Pengyu ends up taking a taxi driven by Qian Jiayue's father, Qian Kang. The two men are acquaintances, thanks to Chen Pengyu previously helping Qian Kang with his English. Qian Kang, noticing that Chen Pengyu hasn't eaten, takes him to Ka Men's mother's wonton shop. Zhang Qiming also arrives, and it turns out he and Chen Pengyu have a past connection – Zhang Qiming once sought Chen Pengyu's help to get his son into a good school. The three men, now realizing their wives are all close friends, bond over their shared frustrations, with Chen Pengyu sharing his recent marital woes.
