Spoiler Alert
This episode throws us right back into the action. Lu Na and A'Lai discover that events are diverging from the original comic book's storyline. They realize this shift is due to A'Jia's interference – he took money from Jiang Yuan's brother, Da Fei, to protect Jiang Yuan. Determined to bring Jiang Yuan to justice, Lu Na and A'Lai start tracking his movements. They learn that Jiang Yuan has been luring young women to St. Mary's Hospital with the help of his friends, where he sexually assaults them. When Jiang Yuan targets another victim, Lu Na and A'Lai alert the press. Reporters capture Jiang Yuan's crimes on camera, and A'Jia, who arrives with the police after receiving an anonymous tip, has no choice but to arrest him.
The focus then shifts to Liu Meng's case, the point where everything started to change. A'Lai recalls receiving photos of water birds from someone named Yang Bo. He tracks down Yang Bo, who reveals that the photos contain evidence of Xiao Rou murdering Liu Meng. Yang Bo had sent the photos to A'Lai, but Xiao Zhao intercepted them.
A'Lai and Lu Na visit the location in the photos. It's clear the area has been disturbed, but they find an earring. If they can prove the earring belongs to Lu Na, it will expose Xiao Rou's impersonation. Lu Na and A'Lai split up, and Lu Na finds a photo of Liu Meng wearing the earring. When they meet back at A'Lai's place, they find the door unlocked and their copy of the comic book missing. Xiao Zhao had stolen the comic and given it to A'Jia. A'Jia, comparing the comic with a newspaper from 20 years in the future, realizes that A'Lai has been using the comic to solve crimes. He also discovers Da Bing's split personality secret.
A'Lai, realizing that only the police know his address, suspects a leak. He takes the evidence from Liu Meng's case to the Chief Inspector. Xiao Zhao overhears this and informs A'Jia. A'Jia, fearing exposure, contacts a corrupt prison warden to have Wei Lun killed in prison. When A'Lai and Lu Na arrive at the prison, they are told Wei Lun committed suicide. A'Jia then frames Xiao Zhao to protect himself.
With Liu Meng's case finally solved, Xiao Rou will be arrested upon regaining consciousness. A'Jia orchestrates Da Bing's release from prison. Da Bing, now in his father's personality, attacks A'Lai and Lu Na on the street, seeking revenge for his son. Lu Na recalls A'Lai's file, revealing that Da Bing was his previous assailant. This time, A'Lai is more agile, and with Lu Na's help, they fend him off until the police arrive and shoot Da Bing.
Worried about A'Lai's safety, Lu Na goes to the restaurant to retrieve the lighter from her younger self. Her father gives it to her, having taken it for safekeeping. He returns it, now that Lu Na has come for it.
Later, Lu Na and A'Lai celebrate at the restaurant. A'Lai knows that the Golden Moon conjunction is happening, and he urges Lu Na to leave, fearing what might happen during the next one. He wants her to return to her own time, but neither of them wants to part.
Lu Na gets drunk, and A'Lai carries her home. She confesses her love and kisses him, and they spend a passionate night together. The next morning, A'Lai goes out to buy breakfast. A'Jia arrives, drugs Lu Na, and kidnaps her. He leaves a note for A'Lai, demanding a meeting at a warehouse.
A'Jia threatens Lu Na's life, demanding the lighter from A'Lai, knowing their secret. A fierce fight ensues. A'Jia shoots A'Lai. During their struggle, oil drums are punctured and catch fire. As A'Jia overpowers A'Lai, Lu Na, risking her life, uses the fire to burn through her ropes and attacks A'Jia from behind. A'Jia stumbles and is killed by falling boxes. A'Lai is severely wounded. Lu Na finds the lighter but can't get it to work. A'Lai, seeing a wooden beam about to fall, shields Lu Na with his body.
Lu Na returns to her own time, waking up in a hospital after being injured by a falling chandelier during an earthquake. She recovers, finishes her comic, and publishes it successfully. She holds a fan meeting, where she meets A'Lai again.
