Plot Synopsis

Six Sisters(六姊妹) is a Chinese drama that chronicles the lives of the He family in the small city of Huainan, Anhuiprovince, spanning from the 1960s to the early 21st century. The seriespaints a vividpicture of a family navigating love, loss, and societal change inpost-revolution China, highlighting the strength and evolving roles of women during this transformative era.

A Family Forged in Hardship

The story begins in the early years after the founding of thePeople's Republic of China. He Changsheng, driven by a desire to contribute to the nation's growth, relocates his family from Yangzhou to Huainan. He and his wife, Liu Meixin, are blessed with six daughters. However, tragedy strikes when He Changsheng dies in an accident. The eldest daughter, He Jiali, along with her mother and grandmother, He Wenshi, must shoulder the responsibility of raising the family.
