Spoiler Alert
This episode of the drama is packed with family negotiations, unexpected pregnancies, and wedding drama. It all starts with the one-month celebration for He Jiahuan and Fang Tao's baby. The party, hosted by He Jiayi and her husband at the fancy Jinmantang, is a lavish affair, but Jiahuan, ever the workaholic, arrives late, much to Fang Tao's hidden frustration. Although he puts on a brave face for his wife, Jiahuan feels guilty seeing how exhausted he is.
Meanwhile, He Jiali pulls He Jiaxi aside for a serious talk. Jiali expresses strong doubts about Jiaxi's upcoming marriage to Yan Hongyu, warning her that Wang Huaimin (Hongyu's mother) is a difficult woman and that all the proper marriage protocols need to be followed. Jiaxi, however, accuses Jiali of being bitter and projecting her own failed relationship with Tang Weimin onto others. This infuriates Jiali, who slaps Jiaxi across the face, immediately regretting it.
Jiaxi runs home in tears, telling her grandmother and mother, Liu Meixin, about the slap. Jiali apologizes, explaining that she's not entirely against the marriage, but believes it's a serious matter that requires a formal meeting between the families, not just a private agreement. Liu Meixin scolds Jiali for the slap, but Jiali reminds her mother of a time when she was slapped, too, highlighting the lingering family tensions.
Liu Meixin and He Jiali then visit Wang Huaimin to discuss the wedding arrangements. Downstairs, Yan Hongyu worries that the He family will make extravagant demands. However, the He family's only request is that the young couple have their own apartment.
The plot thickens when Jiaxi discovers she's pregnant! She urges Hongyu to keep it a secret. To expedite the wedding, Jiaxi lies, claiming Hongyu's father is ill and needs surgery. She convinces Liu Meixin to drop the apartment demand and temporarily use the second-floor suite as their marital home. Liu Meixin sees through Jiaxi's scheme but doesn't object, warning her that if she doesn't secure an apartment before the wedding, it will never happen afterward.
Liu Meixin relays this to Jiali, suggesting that if the Yan family is truly struggling, they should postpone the apartment issue. Jiali, influenced by her mother's change of heart, softens her stance. When Jiaxi visits the Yan household, her frequent trips to the bathroom and vomiting raise Wang Huaimin's suspicions. After pressing Hongyu, Wang Huaimin confirms Jiaxi's pregnancy and is overjoyed.
Feeling empowered by the pregnancy, Wang Huaimin visits the He family and demands a car as part of Jiaxi's dowry. Cars are a luxury at this time, shocking the He family. The sisters are willing to pool their money, but they want to understand Wang Huaimin's sudden change in attitude. Jiaxi can no longer hide her pregnancy and confesses to her family. With the situation now out in the open, her mother and sisters can't scold her and must find a solution.
The next morning, He Jiali confronts Wang Huaimin directly, stating that Jiaxi's pregnancy is a significant "dowry" in itself. She also points out that Hongyu's premarital relations with Jiaxi could damage his reputation. Jiali firmly states that the He family can support the child, and whether the child will acknowledge Wang Huaimin as a grandmother in the future is uncertain. Wang Huaimin, realizing she's lost her leverage, drops the demand for a car and urges the couple to marry quickly.
On the wedding day, Jiaxi and Liu Meixin are overwhelmed with emotion. As Hongyu arrives with flowers to pick up his bride, Liu Meixin is once again in tears. With her last daughter finally married, she feels a sense of peace. Staring at her late husband's portrait, she reflects on their life together, content that her six daughters have all found their own homes and families.
