The episode opens with He Jiahuan struggling to communicate with an important overseas investor due to her poor English skills. Fortunately, Zhang Qiulin steps in to save the day, smoothly handling the situation. Later, Fang Tao, working as a driver, encounters Zhang Qiulin with He Jiahuan outside a hotel. Jealous and enraged, especially after Zhang Qiulin provokes him, Fang Tao drives them to a remote construction site and a physical altercation ensues. He Jiahuan arrives, breaks up the fight, and leaves with Zhang Qiulin.
The tension between He Jiahuan and Fang Tao reaches a boiling point. Late that night, He Jiahuan packs her bags, deciding they need some time apart. Despite feeling hurt himself, Fang Tao still prepares a meal for her and delivers it to her workplace, leaving He Jiahuan with mixed emotions as she sees the familiar thermos.
Meanwhile, the family's new bathhouse business, Bao Yi, is struggling. Customers are scarce, and they're losing money. He Jiayi, however, remains optimistic, believing that businesses need time to grow. He Xiangdong, while delivering barbecue to his aunt He Jiaxi, has a surprise encounter with a former female classmate, Li Wen.
Zhang Qiulin, while at a restaurant, unexpectedly sees He Jiali, He Jiahuan's second sister, working as a temporary dishwasher. He learns from a waiter that the pharmaceutical factory is planning layoffs and reassignments, realizing that He Jiawen (He Jiahuan's brother) is likely facing difficulties. Zhang Qiulin immediately contacts a friend at the Pharmaceutical Bureau, asking them to help He Jiawen, and informs He Jiahuan about the situation.
Fang Tao continues to bring He Jiahuan meals. When he learns that He Jiawen and Zhang Qiulin are out together, he follows them to a restaurant. Seeing them talking and laughing, he angrily turns on all his car lights. He Jiahuan tries to explain, but Fang Tao, consumed by jealousy, accuses her of infidelity, a statement that deeply offends her. The argument escalates, ultimately leading them to file for divorce.
After the divorce, Fang Tao leaves the house to He Jiahuan and moves out, while she gives him their savings passbook. Zhang Qiulin, learning about the divorce, reiterates his feelings for He Jiahuan and expresses his intention to pursue her openly. He Xiangdong announces to his parents that he's bringing a girl home to meet them, raising He Jiali and Zhang Jianguo's expectations.
Yan Hongyu, while driving, encounters Fang Tao's older brother and learns about the divorce. He immediately informs He Jiaxi. The next morning, He Jiaxi visits Liu Meixin (He Jiahuan's mother) to tell her about the divorce, advising her to remain calm for now. Since He Jiawen is keeping the situation quiet, they decide to keep it a secret as well.
Tang Zhenmin is hospitalized with a genetic disease, leaving his children in the care of the He sisters. He Jiahuan returns home and faces a scolding from Liu Meixin, who demands she get back together with Fang Tao, a suggestion He Jiahuan ignores. Soon after, He Xiangdong brings Li Wen home to meet his grandmother, parents, and relatives. The family welcomes her warmly, but her fashionable appearance, particularly her bright red nail polish, makes a less-than-ideal impression on Zhang Jianguo and He Jiali.
During this family gathering, Liu Xiaoling calls, wanting to speak to her son, Yangyang. However, Yangyang still harbors resentment towards his mother. He Jiali and Zhang Jianguo discuss Li Wen, finding her flamboyant and comparing her to the "White Bone Spirit" from Journey to the West. However, they decide not to interfere since their son likes her, and plan to give the couple their house as a wedding gift, moving back into Zhang Jianguo's father's old house.
Fang Tao's trucking business is in its early stages and struggling to find clients, making it difficult to see a profitable future. An old colleague uses this as an excuse to quit, and Fang Tao gives him his own money, hoping he'll stay on. Zhang Qiulin speaks to Liu Meixin about his and He Jiahuan's situation, but Liu Meixin does not approve. Zhang Qiufang and He Jiali also discuss the situation, and both are against the relationship.
