Spoiler Alert

In Episode 11 of "Me and My Family," Wu Limei gives in to Gu Kangqi's daily food deliveries, much to his delight. However, Gu Yunsu isn't thrilled, worrying it'll disrupt family dynamics, but Wu Limei is insistent. A new pregnant patient arrives, accompanied by her sister. While fetching a folding bed, the sisters gossip about Wu Limei's advanced maternal age, which Gu Yunsu, known for her sharp tongue and quick retribution, overhears. She immediately confronts them, and they quickly retreat. Doctor Xu Wenbin witnesses Gu Yunsu's fiery defense, finding her surprisingly endearing.

The sisters from the neighboring bed, with the younger sister having a crush on Dr. Xu, try to win him over during his rounds. The younger sister buys him coffee, but hospital rules prevent him from accepting. Gu Yunsu, having stayed up late working and feeling groggy, seizes the opportunity and takes the coffee, promising to pay Dr. Xu back. Wu Limei, with her life experience, senses a spark between Dr. Xu and Gu Yunsu, seemingly solidifying him as their future son-in-law.

Gu Yunsu takes the initiative and brings homemade food to Dr. Xu, suggesting they eat together, reminding him that she still owes him a few meals as thanks. He agrees, and their shared meal is filled with laughter and growing closeness. However, their pleasant time is cut short when Gu Yunsu receives news of an argument between Wu Limei and the neighboring patient over the room's temperature. Wu Limei is sensitive to cold, while the other pregnant woman is sensitive to heat. Gu Yunsu compromises by buying a space heater for her mother, but the neighbor is very particular, complaining if even the slightest bit of warm air drifts her way.

Tragedy strikes when another pregnant patient experiences a critical emergency. Dr. Xu rushes to save her, but the surgery fails, resulting in the mother's death, though the baby survives. Dealing with patient loss is a painful part of being a doctor. After work, Dr. Xu joins his medical team for a meal, acting as if nothing happened, encouraging his colleagues to face life and death head-on, and to let patient loss fuel their drive to improve. Gu Yunsu, sitting at a nearby table, overhears his words. After Dr. Xu sees his colleagues off, he returns to drink alone, completely losing his composure, like a hurt child. Gu Yunsu, witnessing this unexpected side of him, stays with him, concerned for his well-being. They leave the restaurant and head to a karaoke bar, where Dr. Xu calls the other doctors to join them for singing and dancing. Gu Yunsu is captivated by the scene, and the next day, during his rounds, she playfully mimics his dance moves, leaving Dr. Xu embarrassed and avoiding eye contact.

Gu Yunsu realizes she's falling for him. During lunch, she continues to tease him, and a flustered Dr. Xu compares her to an annoying schoolboy who pulls girls' pigtails. Gu Yunsu, instead of being offended, laughs at his shyness.
