Episode Summary
Gu Yunsu faces romantic competition, her father's secret hospitalization, and a staged intervention at a class reunion by Xu Wenbin, all culminating in an awkward almost-kiss. Wu Limei misinterprets Yunsu's injury, assuming romantic progress.

In episode 12 of "Me and My Family," Gu Yunsu's friend Jingjing, worried about Yunsu spending too much time at the hospital, drags her out to her shop. Jingjing suspects Yunsu has a crush and tries to trick her into revealing it, but fails. Yunsu, conscious of time, rushes back to the hospital for lunch with Xu Wenbin. However, she finds a rival for his affections: a younger patient who brought homemade food for him. Not one to back down, Yunsu boldly sits down and eats the food herself. The younger patient, defeated, returns to her sister, hinting that Yunsu is interfering with her chances with Wenbin. The sister then, in front of Li Jianxiong, subtly criticizes Wu Limei's (Yunsu's mother) past relationship, but Jianxiong doesn't pay much attention.
Meanwhile, Gu Kangqi (Yunsu's father) is hospitalized for emergency gallstone surgery. He makes Yunsu promise not to tell Wu Limei, not wanting her to see him in this state. Jingjing visits Wu Limei, and they gossip about Yunsu's love life. Jingjing suggests that if Yunsu's crush reciprocates, they should help things along, hinting at a class reunion. Yunsu, spending her days at the hospital, has grown closer to Xu Wenbin – they're now at the stage of sharing earphones. She also uses a gift of flowers, intended for her mother, as an excuse to get closer to Wenbin, citing a pregnant patient's allergy to pollen. She wants to invite Wenbin to the reunion but doesn't quite get the words out.
Wu Limei takes matters into her own hands. She and Li Jianxiong stage a scene in the hospital hallway, pretending that Yunsu will be looked down upon and bullied at her class reunion. Xu Wenbin, overhearing this, becomes worried and rushes to the reunion. In reality, Yunsu's classmates are wealthy and friendly. When Wenbin bursts in, Jingjing acts as if everyone is pressuring Yunsu to drink. The male classmates play along, acting arrogant and belittling Yunsu. Xu Wenbin defends her, saying that there's nothing wrong with her job and that she's earning an honest living. Yunsu leaves with Wenbin, but she runs back to thank her friends for their help, assuring them they're still friends and expressing happiness at finding someone she likes.
On the taxi ride back to the hospital, Yunsu tries to kiss Wenbin, pretending she has something in her eye. However, a sudden brake by the driver leads to Yunsu bumping her head and biting her lip.
Back at the hospital, Wu Limei notices Yunsu's injured lip and jumps to conclusions about her and Wenbin. Yunsu, understanding her mother's imagination, simply clarifies that it's not what she thinks.
