Li Yan's Troubles & Gu Yunsu's Advice: Li Yan, trying to use a clogged toilet as an excuse, enlists Gu Yunsu's help. Showing a surprising amount of sisterly intuition, Gu Yunsu seems to sense that Li Yan is being bullied at school. She gives him some tough-love advice: if he's getting picked on, he needs to stand up to the ringleader to stop the bullying for good.
Pregnancy Check-Up & Matchmaking: It's time for Wu Limei's pregnancy check-up, which means a meeting with Xu Wenbin – something Gu Yunsu has been looking forward to. Wu Limei and Li Jianxiong are keen on playing matchmaker, creating opportunities for Gu Yunsu and Xu Wenbin to connect. Gu Yunsu is eager to talk to Xu Wenbin, but he seems distant and uninterested. Disappointed, she leaves. Wu Limei and Li Jianxiong, seeing her emerge from the consultation room, don't pry and simply send her home. Later, Wu Limei shows Xu Wenbin some writing by Gu Yunsu about him and Qin Yuxuan, which brings a smile to his face. It seems the matchmaking efforts might be working after all.
Teenage Embarrassment & A Deal: Back at school, Li Yan is tormented by his classmates, who mock his fake sneakers. They tease him relentlessly, tossing his shoes around. Fed up, Li Yan skips class and heads home, where he indulges in some typical teenage boy behavior – looking at pictures of attractive women. Unfortunately for him, Gu Yunsu bursts in, confronting him about messing up the women's restroom again. The situation is incredibly awkward, but it gets worse when they hear Wu Limei and the others returning home. Gu Yunsu quickly retreats back into Li Yan's room, and they strike a deal: Gu Yunsu will keep his secret, but in return, she'll help him pick out a new pair of shoes to avoid future embarrassment.
Sneaker Shopping & Career Moves: Gu Yunsu, true to her word, helps Li Yan choose new shoes. Pressed for time, she brings him along to a meeting with Qin Yuxuan. Qin Yuxuan drops a bombshell: he can help Gu Yunsu find investors for her novel and secure her position as the lead screenwriter. Gu Yunsu is definitely tempted.
An Unexpected Dinner Guest & Budding Romance: After their meeting, Gu Yunsu and Li Yan return home, already full, only to find Xu Wenbin there. Wu Limei and her husband invited him, and Gu Yunsu is desperate to keep him from finding out about her meeting with Qin Yuxuan. She forces Li Yan to sit at the dinner table and stuff himself with food. It turns out Xu Wenbin came because he wanted to see Gu Yunsu. After dinner, they take a walk, and just as they're about to kiss, Qin Yuxuan starts calling Gu Yunsu repeatedly. Annoyed, she ignores the calls and sends him a scolding text, but the mood is broken, and Xu Wenbin decides to take her home. The next day, Gu Yunsu visits Xu Wenbin at the hospital, but he's in a bad mood after a patient passed away. She stays quietly in his office, and when he rushes out, she takes the opportunity to stick a note she wrote on his office window. Xu Wenbin is touched when he sees it.
Schoolyard Brawl & Gu Yunsu to the Rescue: Li Yan faces his bullies again, this time fighting back. He ends up getting beaten up pretty badly, his clothes torn. The school calls for a parent-teacher conference, and Li Yan has no choice but to ask Gu Yunsu to come. Gu Yunsu unleashes her fury, realizing that Li Yan is being deliberately targeted. She threatens to report the school to the education department for allowing bullying. Since Li Yan's class is made up of repeat students who are all over 18, the consequences would be severe. Gu Yunsu demands that the bullies' parents be present as well. The school principal, terrified of a formal complaint, agrees to call the other parents. Gu Yunsu's demand is simple: the bullies must apologize to Li Yan in front of the entire school during the flag-raising ceremony. The principal agrees.
Li Yan is attracted by Gu Yunsu. But before that, he has to have a one-on-one fight with the student who bullied him, and he asked Gu Yunsu to find a place. Gu Yunsu and Qin Yuxuan had an appointment to meet with producers, investors and directors at the bar. Gu Yunsu had to take them to the bar, where the scene opened the eyes of the children.
Double-Dealing?: Qin Yuxuan introduces Gu Yunsu to the industry veterans, but then Gu Yunsu unexpectedly runs into Zhou Zimeng. Zhou Zimeng also introduces her to various senior figures. Gu Yunsu is shocked to find herself becoming a "career-oriented player," succeeding professionally while her love life is a mess. It seems she's unintentionally playing both sides in the business world.
