Episode Summary
Gu Yunsu argues with her father, Gu Kangqi, about his treatment of her mother, Wu Limei, and reveals Wu Limei's pregnancy. Gu Yunsu leaves, and a worried Wu Limei, along with Li Jianxiong and Gu Kangqi, search for her. They eventually find her at a bar, slightly drunk, after a tip-off from her doctor, Xu Wenbin. Wu Limei brings Gu Yunsu home, assuring her that she has a place there.

The episode opens with a heated argument between Gu Kangqi and his daughter, Gu Yunsu. They're getting massages at home, but relaxation quickly turns into a family feud. Gu Kangqi, as usual, is criticizing his ex-wife, Wu Limei, claiming she was never a good mother. Gu Yunsu, fiercely protective of her mom, fires back. She points out that Wu Limei has always been the one holding the family together, managing the household and caring for both of them. Gu Kangqi, on the other hand, may be the breadwinner, but he's emotionally distant and hasn't given Wu Limei what she truly needs.
During the argument, Gu Yunsu drops a bombshell: Wu Limei is pregnant. Gu Kangqi is stunned. He was still hoping for a reconciliation, but now, at 48, Wu Limei is expecting a child with her new partner. He sees it as a ridiculous situation, something people will laugh at.
Gu Yunsu, frustrated with her father's inability to listen, decides to leave. Gu Kangqi tries to stop her, but fails, mirroring his failure to keep Wu Limei in the past.
Meanwhile, Wu Limei realizes it's the day Gu Yunsu's lease expires and worries about her daughter. She and her current partner, Li Jianxiong (a former police officer), go to pick up Gu Yunsu, but she's not home. Wu Limei contacts Gu Yunsu's best friend, Jingjing, who reveals that when Gu Yunsu is upset, she often goes to the rooftop of her office building.
Wu Limei, Li Jianxiong, and a reluctant Gu Kangqi rush to Gu Yunsu's workplace. They're blocked by security since they don't have employee badges. Discovering a stairwell, they decide to climb to the top. Li Jianxiong, with his police background, initially plans to go alone, but Gu Kangqi's competitive spirit kicks in. Despite Li Jianxiong's advice to pace himself, Gu Kangqi, who is a regular at the gym, races ahead, determined to prove himself. He nearly collapses but, driven by the need to outdo his daughter's stepfather, he pushes himself to the rooftop. However, Gu Yunsu isn't there.
The scene shifts to Gu Yunsu, who, feeling lost, drags her suitcase into a bar. This place holds a special significance: it used to be a dance hall frequented by Wu Limei. As a child, Gu Yunsu would wait outside for her mother after school, unable to enter because she was underage. This memory highlights a past incident where Wu Limei frantically searched for a missing Gu Yunsu, eventually finding her at the dance hall entrance. The police couldn't file a missing person report because it hadn't been 24 hours, but one officer helped Wu Limei in her search.
Back in the present, Gu Yunsu is tipsy. She encounters Xu Wenbin, the gynecologist who treats both her and her mother. Xu Wenbin, recognizing her state, subtly gets her phone and calls her family. Wu Limei, relieved to hear her daughter is with the doctor, feels a sense of relief.
Later, Wu Limei arrives at the bar with both her ex-husband and her current boyfriend. They take a seemingly drunk Gu Yunsu home. Wu Limei, however, suspects her daughter is faking it. While Li Jianxiong is taking Gu Kangqi home, Wu Limei wakes Gu Yunsu and offers her a glass of water. She assures Gu Yunsu that this is her home, and even though the room is small, they'll make it work, especially since Li Yan (Li Jianxiong's son) is in his final year of high school and needs space to study.
