Cast & Character List

Jelly Lin as Luo Lingyu
Luo Lingyu is not your typical damsel in distress. Although she appears delicate and charming, she's a survivor with a sharp mind and an unwavering spirit. After the death of her parents and the loss of her family's fortune, Lingyu finds herself a fallen noblewoman. She's determined to take control of her own destiny.
Refusing to be a burden, Lingyu and her younger sister set out to find refuge with relatives. Along the way, a chance encounter with Lu Yun (played by Alen Fang) sets off a chain of misunderstandings and simmering tension. Initially attracted to his wit and charisma, Lingyu is quickly disillusioned when he misjudges her as a social climber.
However, Lingyu is not one to be deterred. She's fiercely independent and resourceful. She proves her mettle by winning the coveted title of "Flower Fairy," and then, in a bold move, establishes her own successful floral business. Through her hard work and determination, she not only builds a new life for herself but also challenges Lu Yun's preconceived notions, ultimately earning his respect and love. She is a confident and smart female lead.

Alen Fang as Lu Yun
Meet Lu Yun, the third Young master of the prestigious Lu family. At first glance, he appears to be the classic aloof and stoic type, sporting an "ice-cold" demeanor. He's also incredibly perceptive, a "level-ten tea appraiser" – meaning he's an expert at seeing through insincerity and manipulation. Initially, he completely misjudges Luo Lingyu, believing her to be a social climber. He scoffs at her initial attempts to get close to him.
However, beneath that cool exterior lies a surprisingly warm and deeply affectionate heart. Lu Yun is the "actions speak louder than words" kind of person. He's fiercely loyal, and as he gets to know Luo Lingyu, he finds himself drawn to her independent and resilient spirit. He can't help but protect her, even getting jealous when she shows interest in others.
Driven by a desire for justice, Lu Yun is more than just a handsome face. He's determined to uncover the truth behind his father's wrongful accusation of treason a decade prior, an event that branded his father a spy for the rival state of Chu. He's also a champion for social equality, striving to bridge the gap between the aristocratic and common classes. This leads him to undertake a dangerous investigation, where he and Luo Lingyu become partners, facing adversity together and ultimately finding love amidst the chaos. He is described as a "green flag" - meaning he is sweet, protective, and adorably jealous.

Charles Lin as Prince Hengyang
Prince Hengyang, a member of the royal family, presents himself as a carefree and somewhat frivolous individual. However, this is merely a facade. Beneath the surface, he possesses a deep concern for the welfare of the kingdom and harbors his own ambitions and ideals. He is a long-time friend of Lu Yun, and frequently uses his status and extensive network of contacts to provide crucial clues and assistance during Lu Yun's investigations.
Prince Hengyang is also quite taken with Luo Lingyu, admiring her spirit. He repeatedly comes to her aid when she finds herself in difficult situations. He is a classic example of a character with hidden depths, using his seemingly idle lifestyle to mask his true intentions and capabilities.

Zhao Qing as Zhou Yangling
Zhou Yangling is a spirited and forthright young woman known for her strong will and unwavering loyalty. She's a "dare to love, dare to hate" type of person. She is the best friend of Luo Lingyu.
Possessing intelligence and ambition that rival any man's, Yangling harbors a secret desire: to participate in the imperial examinations and achieve a position of influence, a path traditionally forbidden to women. To pursue her goals, she disguises herself as a man and takes a position as an assistant tutor at the Fan household.
Yangling is a woman ahead of her time, challenging societal expectations and striving for a life beyond the conventional roles assigned to women.

Guo Jianan as Prince Changyi
Prince Changyi is a prince who is seeking to strengthen ties with the commoner class. To this end, he plans to marry Zhou Yangling. However, his plans are disrupted when Zhou Yangling disappears en route. Determined to find her, Prince Changyi enlists the help of Lu Yun to assist in the search. He even orders the creation of her portrait, which is posted throughout the city, demonstrating his eagerness for her safe return. He is also close friends with the male lead, Lu Yun.

Deng Xiaoci as Fan Qingchen
Fan Qingchen is the persistent, and ultimately unwelcome, suitor of Luo Lingyu. Engaged to Luo Lingyu, he becomes entangled in numerous conflicts with her as she attempts to escape their arranged marriage. He is known for his dramatic and often ridiculous displays of affection, going so far as to publicly declare that he and Luo Lingyu have already wed. He even presented a "marriage certificate" written in squid ink as proof, much to everyone's amusement, especially when the ink, as expected, faded and the certificate became worthless.
Fan Qingchen's actions are not always well-received, and when his "proof" evaporated, he leaves, frustrated and defeated. He is portrayed as rather creepy.
