Les Belles: Episode 26

Spoiler Alert

When Luo Lingyu awakens, her first instinct is to find Lu Yun. Prince Hengyang arrives with a heavy heart, informing her that an avalanche struck the area where Lu Yun was last seen, and there's been no sign of him. Devastated, Luo Lingyu immediately sets out to search for him. Prince Hengyang, along with his soldiers, joins the desperate search.

In the vast, snowy expanse, Luo Lingyu digs through the snow with her bare hands. She finally uncovers Lu Yun's personal pouch, a sign that he must be nearby. Ignoring the freezing cold, she frantically digs until she finds him, barely alive. If she hadn't found him when she did, he would have frozen to death.

After days of care, Lu Yun recovers. Prince Hengyang celebrates Lu Yun's survival by tying a red ribbon on their tent. With the Beichu forces weakened, Prince Hengyang advises Lu Yun that it's time to return home. He also presents Lu Yun and Luo Lingyu with generous wedding gifts, expressing his happiness for the couple and wishing them a speedy wedding.

Back at the Lu residence, the family is overjoyed to hear of Lu Yun's victorious return and Luo Lingyu's contributions on the front lines. They eagerly begin planning the wedding. However, days pass without any word from the couple. Impatient, Old Madame Lu summons them. Lu Yun and Luo Lingyu both claim they're in no rush, each unsure of the other's true feelings. Old Madame Lu urges them to marry soon, but Lu Yun insists on taking time for proper preparations, and his grandmother reluctantly agrees.

After leaving his grandmother's room, Lu Yun stops Luo Lingyu. He confesses that he wants to marry her, but he's unsure of her feelings. He awkwardly asks if she's been looking at wedding dresses and if she's found one she likes. Luo Lingyu, annoyed that Lingxi revealed this, pointedly asks Lu Yun what he's been up to. She's heard from Yinchuan that he's been calculating all the auspicious dates for the year. Neither is willing to make the first move, and the matter is temporarily postponed.

Lu Yun seeks advice from his friends, who suggest a romantic setting and plenty of flowers. Meanwhile, Luo Lingyu and her friends discuss how to get a man to propose. Zhou Yangling is also troubled, as Prince Changyi hasn't personally proposed, even though the Emperor has arranged their marriage. After a night of drinking, Chen Xiu leaves early, while Lu Yun and Prince Changyi arrive to find their respective ladies.

Lu Yun takes the intoxicated Luo Lingyu home, leaving Prince Changyi to escort Zhou Yangling. Zhou Yangling asks Prince Changyi if he truly wants to marry her, questioning whether he's being forced or if he's genuinely happy about the marriage. Prince Changyi, realizing her concern, is amused. He confesses that he was smitten with her from their first meeting and is very much in love. In a romantic moment, he kisses her.

Luo Lingyu and her friends plot to create an opportunity for Lu Yun to propose, planning artificial rain and fireworks. However, Lu Yun's friends have similar ideas, planning Kongming lanterns and flower petals. Both groups end up interfering with each other's plans. Chen Xiu and Lingxi, helping Luo Lingyu with the artificial rain, accidentally extinguish Lu Yun's lanterns.

Seeing each other's efforts, Luo Lingyu and Lu Yun finally understand each other's feelings. Surrounded by their friends, Luo Lingyu presents Lu Yun with a carefully crafted groom's crown and proposes. Lu Yun playfully hesitates for a moment before joyfully accepting.

With the proposal successful, Lu Yun immediately suggests returning to Jingyang in a few days. He remembers Luo Lingyu's wish to have a husband join the Luo family and wants to help her fulfill that dream.

The ending is that after a series of trials and tribulations, the protagonists, Lu Yun and Luo Lingyu, achieve a happy ending, and the other characters also find their respective places.
