Spoiler Alert
The drama continues to unfold at the Lu residence. Not long after his previous visit, Fan Qingchen shows up at the Lu household again. Lu Yun, ready to turn him away, is interrupted by the arrival of the Prince Hengyang, a close friend from years past. Lu Yun is surprised and immediately welcomes the Prince with utmost respect. Fan Qingchen, overhearing the title "Prince Hengyang," tries to get the Prince to intervene on his behalf, but the Prince brushes him off, entering the Lu estate with Lu Yun.
Luo Lingyu, observing Lu Yun's deference and Fan Qingchen's respectful behavior, realizes the visitor must be someone of high status. She sees an opportunity: if she can gain the Prince's favor, Fan Qingchen might finally back off. With this in mind, Luo Lingyu begins to plot how she might get closer to the Prince Hengyang.
Yinchuan is brewing tea outside the pavilion where Lu Yun and the Prince are conversing. Luo Lingyu, claiming she wants to thank Lu Yun for the jewelry he gifted her the day before, offers to brew tea herself. Yinchuan, wanting to help her, gives up her spot. The Prince's visit is actually a test to see if Lu Yun has revealed his travel plans to anyone, but with no confirmation from Lu Yun, the Prince's mood lightens, and he begins to relax and appreciate the scenery. It's April, with flowers blooming and a gentle breeze carrying the scent of tea. The Prince soon notices the beautiful woman brewing tea nearby – Luo Lingyu. He is instantly captivated by her beauty.
Lu Yun also notices Luo Lingyu, particularly as peach blossoms fall around her like rain, enhancing her charm. He wonders why she's brewing tea, but the Prince is already completely mesmerized. Lu Yun calls Luo Lingyu over to serve them. Luo Lingyu acts with utmost grace and poise. Lu Yun intends to explain her connection to Fan Qingchen, but Luo Lingyu quickly makes an excuse to avoid the topic. Sensing that staying longer might arouse Lu Yun's suspicion, she politely thanks them and leaves.
Later, Luo Lingyu's younger sister and the Young master of the Lu family get into an argument. Lu Xian arrives to break it up, but the children accidentally cause him to fall into the lotus pond. Luckily, Luo Lingyu arrives just in time and jumps in to save Lu Xian, who can't swim.
The First Madam, hearing of her son's accident, is distraught. Without investigating, she immediately orders Luo Lingyu to kneel in the Ancestral Hall as punishment. Luo Lingyu obeys without complaint. She knows that if Lu Xian's fall is linked to her sister, Hua'er, they could be thrown out of the Lu household.
That night, a storm rages, and the spring chill is biting. Luo Lingyu is still in her wet clothes, shivering with cold. Lu Yun hears Hua'er crying next door and, learning the reason, rushes to the Ancestral Hall. He finds Luo Lingyu kneeling, refusing to leave. Understanding her precarious position as a dependent in the household, Lu Yun stays by her side until she faints from a fever. He then carries her back to his room for care.
Luo Lingyu wakes up in Lu Yun's room, finding dry clothes laid out for her. Lu Yun brings her medicine and tells her to change. Although he's usually critical of her, he's surprisingly considerate today. Luo Lingyu changes, thanks him, and asks him to check on Lu Xian, reminding him not to mention Hua'er's name when Lu Xian wakes up.
The next morning, Lu Yun visits his brother, Lu Xian. The doctor says he'll recover soon. A girl who secretly loves Lu Xian seizes the opportunity to try and get Luo Lingyu expelled, exaggerating Luo Lingyu's faults to the First Madam. Lu Yun overhears and tries to clarify the situation, but the First Madam is determined to investigate the incident thoroughly.
