Zhai Xiaowen as Jing Qichi
Jing Qichi is a naturally sunny and optimistic young man with a deep passion for soccer. His dreams of pursuing a soccer career are tragically cut short due to an injury. This setback, compounded by the devastating loss of his father, who died in the line of duty, sends Qichi into a spiral of despair. However, with the unwavering support and encouragement of his close friend, Chen Huaner, he finds the strength to persevere.
After graduating from university, Qichi initially moves to Beijing for work. He eventually returns to the city where Chen Huaner is located, and, in a heartwarming culmination of their long-standing relationship, he proposes to her upon her successful completion of her doctoral studies. Qichi's journey is one of resilience, highlighting how he overcomes personal tragedies and ultimately finds his way back to happiness and love.
Zhou Keyu as Song Cong
Song Cong is a top-of-his-class "studyholic" who transfers schools due to his mother's paralysis. He's completely focused on his academics, seemingly oblivious to the romantic feelings swirling around him. His life takes a tumultuous turn, and he endures significant hardships because of the changes in his family. He is friends with Chen Huan Er and Jing Xi Chi.
Yang Xizi as Chen Huan'er
Chen Huan'er is a main character in Always Home. She is originally from a small town. Due to her mother's job transfer, she moves to the bustling city of Tian He and lives in a residential compound for hospital staff. It is here that she meets and becomes close friends with Jing Qichi and Song Cong.
A naturally optimistic person, Huan'er readily adapts to her new surroundings. She faces many challenges and changes throughout the series, growing up alongside her friends. Notably, she uses her own experience with illness to offer encouragement to Jing Qichi during a difficult time. After graduating from university, she continues her studies in graduate school. She and Jing Qichi eventually marry.
He Qiu as Qi Qi
Qi Qi is the quintessential girl-next-door with a striking, goddess-like appearance. But she's more than just a pretty face; she's a bold and straightforward young woman who isn't afraid to go after what she wants, whether it's in friendships or romantic relationships.
As Chen Huan'er's classmate and best friend, Qi Qi is incredibly loyal and supportive. She comes from a well-off family, but she is down-to-earth. She's the kind of friend who offers warmth and support from day one, as she did when Huan'er first transferred to their school. Qi Qi, along with Huan'er and their friends, experiences the ups and downs of youth, sharing laughter, tears, and personal growth as they navigate their coming-of-age journey together.
Zhou Haoqi as Tian Chi
Tian Chi is a core member of the close-knit group of friends at the heart of Always Home. He grew up in the hospital family housing alongside Chen Huan'er, Jing Qichi, and Song Cong, forming unbreakable bonds that define their coming-of-age journey. He is a supportive friend.
Sui Yuan as Du Man
Du Man is a driven and highly disciplined individual. A former classmate of Chen Huan'er in junior high, she presents a cool, reserved, and rational exterior. From a young age, Du Man has been intensely focused on achieving success and bettering her circumstances. She's incredibly demanding of herself, constantly striving for excellence. Her relentless hard work and unwavering determination have allowed her to achieve the life she always envisioned.
