This episode dives into the college lives of our favorite characters, showing the challenges and changing dynamics of their relationships.

Song Cong takes Qi Qi to the school's screening room, revealing his intense dedication to his studies. He's completely immersed in books, feeling like there aren't enough hours in the day. Qi Qi reminisces about her past struggles with writing, recalling how Song Cong's early encouragement, though seemingly small, meant the world to her. She admits she's moved past flowery language, preferring a more direct, "show, don't tell" approach – especially when it comes to liking someone. Song Cong agrees to hang out with her again for future events. Meanwhile, the absence of top student Lin Jingyi creates a strange tension for Song Cong, highlighting the pressure he's feeling.

Meanwhile, Jing Qichi and Zhou Ye join the sports department with Chen Huan'er, whispering to each other during a meeting. When the student union announces a welcome party, requiring a performance from the sports department, everyone tries to avoid responsibility. It ultimately falls on Chen Huan'er because her registration form mentioned martial arts skills. Later, Chen Huan'er encounters Qiu Li, who's planning to stay in a hotel to avoid the dorm's heat and lack of AC. Back at the dorm, the usual tension with Dong Huixin over the AC continues. A dorm check leads to Qiu Li getting a demerit, despite Chen Huan'er and Huang Lu's attempts to cover for her. The next day, Dong Huixin surprisingly covers for Qiu Li during roll call, taking an absence herself. Dong Huixin explains she doesn't want to be indebted to Qiu Li and has requested a room change.

At a group meal, Chen Huan'er and Huang Lu try to smooth things over between Qiu Li and Dong Huixin. They reveal that Dong Huixin is working part-time at the restaurant. A difficult customer harasses Dong Huixin, and Qiu Li steps in to help. Realizing Dong Huixin's financial struggles, the group offers to let her reserve seats for them, offsetting the AC and reservation fees, so she won't have to move. The atmosphere in room 401 finally starts to warm up. The next morning, everyone brings breakfast, and Chen Huan'er gives a lot of it to Jing Qichi, claiming it's for the "big dog" downstairs. Jing Qichi enjoys the food, and Chen Huan'er playfully snaps a photo.

Du Wei pulls rank and cancels the sports department's performance, demanding Jing Qichi's help instead. He's reluctant until Chen Huan'er asks him to. Da Lin Ge, furious, retaliates by demanding Chen Huan'er perform martial arts at the party, telling her to keep it secret. Jing Qichi consistently defends Chen Huan'er against Du Wei's unfair treatment.

Chen Huan'er, feeling down about the canceled performance, learns from Qiu Li that it's due to a personal feud between Da Lin Ge and Du Wei. Inspired by Dong Huixin, she decides to create a women's self-defense themed performance. Da Lin Ge approves, but without the chair's support, they're given a remote venue and little help. Chen Huan'er and Huang Lu distribute flyers, and Tian Chi offers to design posters.

Jing Qichi, while practicing his hosting lines, sees Chen Huan'er and Tian Chi interacting playfully, and he becomes a bit somber. He later brings Chen Huan'er dinner and subtly inquires about Tian Chi. Jing Qichi then offers to be Chen Huan'er's "human sandbag" for her performance. Tian Chi returns with gifts for Chen Huan'er, which Jing Qichi unceremoniously accepts on her behalf.
