Wen Yifan prepares for her art school entrance exam with Sang Yan's unwavering support. After a drunken night, Wen Yifan impulsively hugs Sang Yan while pretending to sleepwalk, leading to awkwardness and teasing the next morning. In episode 12 of "The First Frost", Wen Yifan is preparing for her art school entrance exam. Sang Yan, ever the supportive friend, accompanies her to book a hotel room. He even stands guard outside in the snow on the day of her exam, ensuring her safety. Whether she's practicing her dance moves with a genuine smile or radiating confidence on stage, Sang Yan is there every step of the way.
Back at work, Wen Yifan shows the interview video to a mother, pleading with her to let her daughter go. During the editing process, Mu Chengyun persistently tries to get Wen Yifan to attend a welcome party. She eventually relents, unable to resist the urging of her colleagues. The party is at a bar, and Sang Yan, arriving after work, is immediately captivated by the sight of Wen Yifan. She's his personal scenery. However, Mu Chengyun, clearly interested, steps in, expressing his desire to get closer to Wen Yifan's heart.
Wen Yifan, enjoying the camaraderie of her coworkers, has a bit too much to drink. As she and Mu Chengyun are leaving, Sang Yan appears and forcefully separates them, shoving Mu Chengyun into a car. He then carries the seemingly drunk Mu Chengyun to Nanwu University, revealing he knows Mu Chengyun is faking his inebriation. This reminds Wen Yifan of a time when Sang Yan pretended to be drunk, clinging to her and exaggerating his need for support, only to laughingly admit he was faking it.
The alcohol hits Wen Yifan hard, and she stumbles into Sang Yan's arms as soon as she exits the elevator. Sang Yan, with Wen Yifan's hands on his chest, asks if she's trying to pursue him. She playfully waves him off, saying she hasn't considered it yet but will let him know when she does. Sang Yan tells her to drink less, but Wen Yifan retorts that he's the real alcoholic, recalling him downing multiple bottles at their graduation ceremony after they broke up.
Sang Yan prepares honey water for Wen Yifan. Looking at him, she's reminded of her father, and a wave of sadness washes over her. After finishing the drink, she tells Sang Yan he can stay longer if his home renovation is still causing problems. Lying in bed, Wen Yifan reflects on Mu Chengyun's words at the party and feels guilty for causing Sang Yan to drink so much after their breakup. In her hazy state, she mistakes her cat for Sang Yan and whispers, "I'll be nicer to you in the future."
Later that night, Wen Yifan gets up for water. Sang Yan, thinking she's sleepwalking again, wonders aloud about the trigger. Overhearing him, Wen Yifan decides to be impulsive. She pretends to sleepwalk, musters her courage, and embraces Sang Yan.
The next morning, Sang Yan immediately teases Wen Yifan, saying she's getting more controlled with her hugs, shortening the duration and only hugging him. He wonders if it's a new way of pursuing him. Wen Yifan quickly denies it, claiming she was indeed sleepwalking. Sensing something is off, Sang Yan offers to drive Wen Yifan to work since he has business near the TV station. On the way, Wen Yifan says she'll visit the hospital when she has time. Just as she's getting out of the car, Sang Yan spots Mu Chengyun approaching and uses the opportunity to touch Wen Yifan's hair, pretending there's something in it.
Mu Chengyun announces his plan to rent an apartment and presumptuously follows Wen Yifan home. Sang Yan's face instantly changes upon seeing Mu Chengyun, and the atmosphere becomes incredibly tense...
