Spoiler Alert
The episode opens with Sang Yan starting his freshman year at Nanwu University. He's pleasantly surprised to find himself rooming with Duan Jiaxu, along with two other friendly classmates. The dorm room dynamic is immediately lively, especially when Su Haoan, an energetic friend, bursts in, announcing he's in the room next door.
Meanwhile, Wen Yifan wakes up to find Sang Yan still asleep, with his arms wrapped around her from behind. She tries to make a stealthy escape, but he wakes up. Wen Yifan blames her sleepwalking, but Sang Yan feels like she's always "coveting" him, worried about his "chastity" being "ruthlessly taken." She counters that it was an accident, and besides, he pulled her back when she tried to leave, so they're even.
A subplot unfolds with Su Haoan's grandfather, who is missing a box of his medication. The empty box is found in the trash, and a frantic search leads them to the hospital, only to find the grandfather has wandered off. Su Haoan, fearing his grandfather has eloped with a woman named Fang, is hit with a wave of emotional realization. He confesses to Zhong Siqiao that he feels like the "unworthy" one in his family, overshadowed by his more successful brother. A tragic backstory is revealed: a missed exam led to a change in family travel plans, resulting in a car accident that claimed the lives of his parents and brother. Zhong Siqiao offers comfort, and Su Haoan, overwhelmed, embraces her. Later, Zhong Siqiao is deeply moved by her grandfather's words and embraces her own father, appreciating her mother's care.
Wen Yifan, taking a rare early night off work, seeks advice from Mu Chengyun about a gift, and is avoiding going home. Mu Chengyun questions why Wen Yifan needs to report her home schedule to Sang Yan, to which she says it is part of the cohabitation agreement. Mu Chengyun brings up Sang Yan's first love, mentioning that Sang Yan once admitted he's not the "long-term commitment" type. This clearly unsettles Wen Yifan. Mu Chengyun, hinting at Sang Yan's past behavior, warns Wen Yifan to be careful. Wen Yifan, however, defends the idea of simple, heartfelt emotions in relationships.
Back at the apartment, Wen Yifan sneaks in, only to bump into a shirtless Sang Yan, fresh out of the shower. She awkwardly tells him to lock his door in the future. Sang Yan, having had a few drinks, teases her, getting close and pointing out that she's blushing.
Wen Yifan, flustered by her first encounter with a naked male, is now keeping her distance. Sang Yan lays down his terms: until Wen Yifan figures out her sleepwalking issue, she needs to keep her distance from other men. He doesn't want to be the "poor little thing" she can touch freely. Wen Yifan is left to ponder her feelings, realizing she dislikes physical contact with most men, but not with Sang Yan. She wonders if she still has feelings for him.
