Meanwhile, the scene shifts to a disaster zone – the collapsed Bei Yu Tunnel.Emergency crews are in a frenzy, working to rescue survivors.Wen Yifan, a reporter, is on-site, broadcasting live. A distraught mother breaks through the barricade, pleading for help to save her daughter.Wen Yifan's boss, Qian Wenhua, assigns her and a colleague, Fu Zhuang, to stay on-site overnight. The next day, exhausted, Wen Yifan returns to her hotel, quickly replying to a message from Sang Yan before falling asleep.
At the 46-hour mark of the rescue, the firefighters discover a young girl, Xiaoyu. She's crying, begging them to save her father, who shielded her during the collapse.At the hospital, Su Tian interviews Xiaoyu's mother, Ms. Li.
