Episode Summary
Sang Yan and Wen Yifan become an official couple, publicly revealing their relationship. Sang Yan is very attentive to Wen Yifan, concerned about her health and happiness. Su Haoan's confession to Zhong Siqiao is interrupted by Xiang Lang's return, leading to conflict. Zhong Siqiao struggles with her feelings. Wen Yifan has liked Sang Yan since high school. Xiang Lang explains that Zhong Siqiao is not as carefree as she appears.

At the Nanwu University alumni event for Nanwu High School graduates, Su Haoan is running his mouth, and Sang Yan, bored, steps outside. He overhears Zhong Siqiao on the phone with Wen Yifan. Wen Yifan tells her that she's not dating anyone, but she recently started playing a mobile game, and her username is "Wenhe De Kaishui" (Gentle Boiling Water). Sang Yan, upon returning, downloads the game himself and chooses the username "Bai Jiang" (Defeated General).
Because it's late, Wen Yifan books a room for Sang Yan on the same floor as hers. At Sang Yan's insistence, she goes into his room. Sang Yan expresses his concern for Wen Yifan, noting how much weight she's lost on her recent business trip and noticing a wound behind her ear. He mentions he came for a birthday present, and while she turns, he takes the opportunity to kiss her. Before leaving, Wen Yifan asks about his birthday wish, and Sang Yan says it has already come true.
Sang Yan posts a picture of a cake on his WeChat Moments, announcing that he has a partner. Zhong Siqiao immediately tells Wen Yifan, who replies, "It's me." Zhong Siqiao is shocked and immediately calls Wen Yifan. Su Haoan tells Zhong Siqiao he doesn't want to be just friends anymore; he wants to be her boyfriend and is currently downstairs at Anhe Bridge. Zhong Siqiao bumps into Xiang Lang on her way out, who's back because his company is on break.
Su Haoan was originally planning to confess to Zhong Siqiao, but seeing Xiang Lang with her, he gets into a nonsensical argument and leaves angrily. The next morning, Wen Yifan is leaving Beiyu with her colleagues. Sang Yan says he'll go with them, not only holding Wen Yifan's hand but also publicly announcing their relationship. Mu Chengyun is confused, so Sang Yan clarifies that they are mutually in love, a phrase that, he points out, came from Wen Yifan herself.
After Zhong Siqiao rejects Su Haoan's confession, she's in a bad state. She's unsure of her feelings for Su Haoan, only knowing that she feels empty when he's not around. Su Haoan adds Xiang Lang on WeChat, hoping to chat before he leaves. Xiang Lang agrees. Wen Yifan arrives home and gives Sang Yan his birthday present: a camel-colored coat. Although Sang Yan has never worn this color before, he's very pleased.
After applying ointment to the wound behind Wen Yifan's ear, Sang Yan tells her to come find him after she showers tomorrow. Wen Yifan, embarrassed, hugs her arms and asks if things are moving too fast. Sang Yan clarifies that he just meant he would apply more ointment. Ever since they confirmed their relationship, Wen Yifan finds herself smiling foolishly. Mu Chengyun advises Wen Yifan not to force herself to be with Sang Yan, claiming he can't find any redeeming qualities in him. However, Wen Yifan boldly declares that she's liked Sang Yan since high school and is very happy to be with him now. Sang Yan asks Wen Yifan to accompany him to overtime work, and Zhong Siqiao tags along. This is Wen Yifan and Sang Yan's first meeting since confirming their relationship, and Zhong Siqiao is nervous and excited. The other shareholders working overtime are still unaware of Sang Yan's confession. These clueless individuals watch Sang Yan protectively hover over Wen Yifan while simultaneously showing off, yet they completely fail to grasp their relationship.
Su Haoan meets with Xiang Lang, wanting to learn more about Zhong Siqiao. He's afraid to ask Wen Yifan directly, fearing Zhong Siqiao's reaction. Xiang Lang tells Su Haoan that although Zhong Siqiao appears carefree, she's not as happy as she seems. She bottles things up and simply goes along with others. She always remembers Xiang Lang and Wen Yifan's birthdays every year. Among the three of them, she's not the central figure, but the central figure always needs her.
Wen Yifan and Sang Yan eat dumplings at a small shop. Wen Yifan, who prefers lighter flavors, specifically imagines Sang Yan's usual preference for strong flavors when ordering for him. Sang Yan pops a dumpling in his mouth and says he likes it very much.
