The New Year holiday is in full swing, and Sang Yan finds himself glued to his phone, playing games. He stumbles upon Wen Yifan's online request for a gaming mentor. He eagerly tries to accept her as his apprentice, but his level is too low. This kicks off a marathon gaming session as Sang Yan dedicates himself to leveling up.
Later, the couple goes on a date, which includes a ride on a Ferris wheel. Wen Yifan asks if Sang Yan is afraid of heights, but he boldly claims he's not afraid of anything. She smiles, playfully recalling his terrified reaction during a horror movie. As they approach the top of the Ferris wheel, Sang Yan gets up and sits next to Wen Yifan, ready for a romantic moment, but he's interrupted by a work call from his colleague, Qian Fei. After the ride, Sang Yan hears a rumor that couples who kiss at the top of the Ferris wheel will stay together forever. He seizes the opportunity, taking Wen Yifan for another ride, where they take photos and share a long-awaited kiss. Meanwhile, Zhong Siqiao goes looking for Su Haoan at his workplace, but he's not there.
Wen Yifan is basking in the glow of her relationship with Sang Yan, feeling incredibly happy. She lies in bed, replaying their sweet moments, almost doubting if it's all real. Suddenly, she receives a text message with a candid photo of herself. She calls the number back, and a creepy voice on the other end confirms her identity, saying, "It really is you, Wen Yifan."
Zhong Siqiao visits her grandfather, who is frustrated with his dog, Mutou, for making a mess in the house. Zhong Siqiao patiently encourages her grandfather to be understanding and caring towards Mutou, and she suggests that he should tell his wife about his illness. Her grandfather clearly has deep affection for his wife, having written down everything about her, fearing he might one day forget. Although it is New Year Holiday, Wen Yifan doesn't want to go out and play. Zhong Siqiao brings some things to her house and gives her a painting.
Wen Yifan decorates her doorway with traditional New Year couplets, and she decides to cook a meal for Sang Yan. When Sang Yan arrives, he notices the couplets and adds his own touch, drawing a mulberry leaf and a frost flower below them. Wen Yifan's cooking turns out to be delicious, and Sang Yan savors every bite. Wen Yifan tells Sang Yan that the nightlights he left on for her sleepwalking aren't actually helpful, as sleepwalkers don't react to light, they just follow their daytime routines. Sang Yan seems a little saddened, and says he will take them down. Wen Yifan says that since she's been with Sang Yan, her stress has decreased, and her sleepwalking has become less frequent. She's grateful that Sang Yan is always there to catch her, no matter what. Seeing Wen Yifan's teary eyes, Sang Yan firmly assures her that he will always be there to support her.
After dinner, Wen Yifan settles down to watch a movie with Sang Yan, but she receives a flurry of messages from Zheng Kejia, her stepsister. Zheng Kejia complains that Wen Yifan's father's relatives are overstaying their welcome, and her aunt is constantly asking her mother for money. Wen Yifan doesn't say much, but her mood visibly darkens. Noticing her change in demeanor, Sang Yan doesn't pry, instead asking about her New Year's plans. Wen Yifan opens up, revealing her strained relationship with her stepfather and her decision not to go home. She also shares her past experiences of being fostered, and Sang Yan is deeply moved by her difficult past. The stark contrast between Zheng Kejia's and Wen Yifan's treatment as daughters is highlighted.
Sang Yan pulls Wen Yifan into a comforting embrace, reassuring her not to let her stepsister's words or any arbitrary standards affect her. He emphasizes that, in his eyes, Wen Yifan will always be his top priority.
