Episode Summary
Wen Yifan experiences a strange sleepwalking incident, then later gets very drunk at a wedding. Sang Yan takes care of her, and she expresses regrets about the past and her feelings for him. Their relationship is now public, and a past rivalry between Sang Yan and Duan Jiaxu over who is more handsome resurfaces. The episode also touches on themes of facing past trauma and the importance of cherishing loved ones, highlighted through Su Haoan's grandparents. The episode opens with a bizarre scene at the Yihe University dorms. Wen Yifan is sleepwalking, standing rigidly in front of her desk with the light on. Her roommates are freaked out, especially since she's completely unresponsive. The next day, after an exam, the girls attend a mixer. The guys are all over Wen Yifan, but she makes an excuse to leave early, heading back to play games with Sang Yan.
Meanwhile, Zhong Siqiao and Su Haoan are spending quality time with Su Haoan's grandparents. The grandparents share their enduring love story, emphasizing how facing past trauma, specifically the car accident that took Su Haoan's parents and brother, has allowed them to move forward. Grandma even took a solo road trip to the accident site, finding that confronting the pain helped her truly let go. She expresses gratitude for the remaining family she has, highlighting the importance of living life to the fullest.
Later, Wen Yifan changes into a dress before going to see Sang Yan. Her coworker, Mu Chengyun, sees her off, genuinely wishing her happiness. At Qian Fei's wedding, Duan Jiaxu arrives late. Sang Yan, remembering Wen Yifan once complimenting Duan Jiaxu's looks, gets a bit competitive. He starts polling their friends, asking who's more handsome, him or Duan Jiaxu.
Wen Yifan rushes to meet Sang Yan after receiving his call, completely unaware that someone is watching her. The observer's gaze lingers on the TV station after she gets into the car. Sang Yan, now openly affectionate, makes a show of their relationship. Wen Yifan publicly admits that she pursued Sang Yan. When their friends bring up Sang Yan's earlier question about who's more handsome, Wen Yifan playfully tells Sang Yan she'd vote for him. Sang Yan acts cool, saying he doesn't need it, but Wen Yifan assures him she's sincere, saying she wouldn't have chased him so "crazily" otherwise.
During the wedding reception, Wen Yifan gets pressured into drinking quite a bit. Sang Yan helps a very drunk Wen Yifan outside to wait for a ride. She slurs that she's saving up money to "keep" him, jokingly worried he'll smile at other girls. Once in the car, Wen Yifan starts acting up, and Sang Yan has to use a bag to shield her, even covering his own face, until she says she's decent. Su Haoan, on his way home with Zhong Siqiao, mentions how envious he is of Sang Yan's public declaration of love, as he's never been allowed to post about his girlfriends on social media.
After getting out of the taxi, Wen Yifan is so unsteady that Sang Yan has to carry her piggyback. He sweetly agrees to her drunken demand that he shouldn't rely on his looks. Wen Yifan then brings up her time at Yihe TV, where she was constantly gossiped about. Although she tries to brush it off, Sang Yan is clearly pained by her past experiences. Wen Yifan feels nauseous, and Sang Yan sets her down. She apologizes for her weight, then lies down, looking at the stars. She apologizes again, this time for harsh words she said in the past, and admits that she doesn't like Yihe or Beiyu, only Nanwu, because that's where the people she cares about are.
Sang Yan prepares hangover soup for Wen Yifan, but she's sprawled out on the sofa, refusing to go to bed because she feels "stinky" from drinking. He tells her to shower, and she playfully demands that he wash her. He refuses, and she lunges at him, wanting to cuddle. After finally getting her to bed, he tries to leave, but she apologizes again for running away in the past. The next morning, Sang Yan wakes up to find Wen Yifan clinging to him. A mortified, sober Wen Yifan claims she was sleepwalking again.
