Episode Summary

Wen Yifan and Sang Yan finally confront their past. Wen Yifan reveals the trauma she endured, and Sang Yan provides unwavering support and love. They reaffirm their feelings for each other, and Wen Yifan decides to return home and to her career at the TV station, with Sang Yan's full encouragement. A new case involving a missing high school student brings Wen Yifan back to a familiar face, Officer Chen.

The episode opens with Wen Yifan receiving a message from Sang Yan while at Officer Chen's house. She braves the heavy rain to meet him, finding him drenched and despondent. Sang Yan returns to his dorm, ignoring Su Haoan's attempts to celebrate, lost in his own misery.

Meanwhile, the children's performance is about to begin, and Sang Yan is nowhere to be found. Zhong Siqiao and Su Haoan coordinate, with one recording the performance and the other waiting for Sang Yan. Disaster strikes when the music file malfunctions, leaving the children performing in silence. Wen Yifan, quick on her feet, starts clapping a rhythm to guide them. Sang Yan finally arrives and is immediately captivated by the sight of Wen Yifan. After the performance, Sang Yan stops Wen Yifan. She mentions the children's positive spirits despite not placing, to which Sang Yan confesses that seeing her is more important than anything. He pulls her into a long-awaited embrace, a gesture that brings a rare smile to Wen Yifan's face.

Wen Yifan, now working part-time while studying, finally reveals the reason for her disappearance to Sang Yan. He responds by expressing his deep love for her, assuring her that she provides him with a sense of security. Wen Yifan regrets not giving Sang Yan an umbrella after the college entrance exams, but he dismisses it, saying he's not delicate. Wen Yifan books a room for Sang Yan, which has two beds.

Sang Yan tends to Wen Yifan's foot injury, which she sustained while escaping Che Xingde and aggravated by dancing. She opens up about the entire ordeal, including her encounter with Che Xingde in Nanwu. Sang Yan is reluctant for her to relive the trauma, but Wen Yifan is determined to be brave after years of avoidance. Hearing her choked-up account, Sang Yan embraces her, heartbroken that she endured everything alone. He reassures her that she now has him firmly by her side.

Wen Yifan confesses that she initially applied to Nanwu University and never intended to hurt him. Her avoidance stemmed from feeling unworthy of him. Sang Yan declares that he only has eyes for the best, and she is the best. Wen Yifan, with tears in her eyes, admits she hasn't loved anyone else in all these years. Sang Yan firmly tells her that her experiences are nothing to be ashamed of and that she deserves to live in the light, unlike the scumbag Che Xingde.

With the weight of her secrets lifted, Wen Yifan feels a sense of relief. Sang Yan, unable to contain himself any longer, pulls her close and presses her down. Later, at a gathering, Wen Yifan joyfully announces her return home, to everyone's delight. She takes Sang Yan to her place to pack, revealing surprisingly few belongings despite her time in Hong Kong. She tells him that she only wants to be where he is.

Wen Yifan and Su Tian go for facials and Su Tian suggests that Wen Yifan should get back to the TV station. Wen Yifan seeks Sang Yan's opinion, and he fully supports her pursuing her passion. Wen Yifan is finally able to manage her stress, and her sleepwalking has improved significantly. After consulting with her doctor, she returns to the TV station.

Qian Wenhua informs Wen Yifan and Fu Zhuang about a case in Beiyu involving a female high school student who disappeared years ago. With new leads, the police are searching for the body and actively pursuing the suspect. At the police station, Wen Yifan unexpectedly reunites with Officer Chen, who is delighted to see her doing well.
