Spoiler Alert
The episode kicks off with chaos at school when the power suddenly goes out. Amidst the confusion, Wen Yifan is calmly observing the moon from a corner, and Sang Yan steps up to defend her in front of their classmates. Su Haoan jokingly refers to Wen Yifan as Sang Yan's "White Moonlight" (meaning his first love or an idealized, unattainable person), and Wen Yifan doesn't deny it, even saying that "White Moonlight" is a nice term.
Later, Wen Yifan moves to Wang Linlin's place late at night, bringing her cat, Dian Dian, with her. Wang Linlin, who is allergic to cat fur, reminds Wen Yifan that pets aren't allowed. Meanwhile, Zhong Siqiao goes looking for Wen Yifan and coincidentally witnesses Wang Linlin drawing a line in her relationship with Su Haoan. Zhong Siqiao offers to help Wang Linlin with a delivery. Just as Wang Linlin finishes packing a bag, Su Haoan arrives, desperate to salvage their relationship. He pleads with her, but Wang Linlin is resolute, and a heartbroken Su Haoan leaves.
At the station, colleagues gossip about Wang Linlin's love life, but Wen Yifan is uninterested. The landlord then shows up, demanding the keys to the group rental house. As Wen Yifan searches, she receives a WeChat message from Sang Yan, accompanied by a picture of the keys. To avoid giving Sang Yan the wrong impression, Wen Yifan invites two colleagues to dinner at the "Overtime Bar". After retrieving the keys, Wen Yifan offers to treat Sang Yan to a meal again. Sang Yan is internally conflicted but maintains a stoic facade. Just as he's about to refuse, he learns that his own home has been affected by a fire on the lower floor. Wen Yifan seizes the opportunity to report live from the scene with her colleagues, and Sang Yan tags along. His apartment suffers the most damage, and the camera soon focuses on him. Sang Yan glances at Wen Yifan and declares to the camera, "I'm very happy, and I hope you can be as happy as I am."
Early the next morning, as Wen Yifan is getting ready, Wang Linlin returns home. She tells Wen Yifan that her current job is demanding and underpaid, and her cousin has found her a new one. However, due to the distance, she's decided to move out. After returning the keys to the group rental house, Wen Yifan goes back home and finds the door unlocked. Cautiously entering, she's startled by a noise and immediately calls the police. Just then, Sang Yan emerges from inside. It turns out that Sang Yan asked Su Haoan to help him find a place, and Wang Linlin was urgently seeking a replacement tenant. Thus, Sang Yan becomes Wen Yifan's new roommate. Wen Yifan offers to pay for a hotel for Sang Yan, but he declines, claiming he doesn't want the hassle, and he emphasizes that he's not the type to dwell on the past. Because it's late, Wen Yifan allows Sang Yan to sleep in the master bedroom for the night.
The following morning, Wen Yifan wakes up to find Sang Yan gone, and he's left the keys behind. Wen Yifan meets with Wang Linlin, reiterating her preference for a female roommate. At 8 PM, Sang Yan arrives as promised, and they discuss the living arrangements. Wen Yifan agrees to let him stay but insists on clarifying the financial aspects upfront. Despite Sang Yan only staying for three months, Wen Yifan establishes some cohabitation rules, specifically emphasizing no nudity in common areas. Since they're living together, Wen Yifan also states that they need each other's consent before bringing any romantic interests home. Sang Yan assures her that he doesn't have a girlfriend and isn't interested in dating.
After getting acquainted with the apartment, Sang Yan proposes to stay in Wen Yifan's smaller room but still split the rent as if he were in the master bedroom. Lying in bed, Wen Yifan struggles to fall asleep, tossing and turning. In the other room, Sang Yan is also wide awake. He sneaks back into his fire-damaged apartment and retrieves an old tin box, taking out a long-stored mobile phone from inside.
