Spoiler Alert
The episode opens with a flashback to Wen Yifan's first day of high school. She's running late, being dropped off by her dad on his electric scooter. Sang Yan notices her rushing into the school. He cleverly gets her attention by dribbling a basketball (which he "borrowed" from another student) on the steps she's passing. Thinking he's an upperclassman because of his laid-back attitude, Wen Yifan asks him for directions.
Fast forward to the present, and it's Chinese New Year. Sang Yan brings Wen Yifan home to meet his family, who are overjoyed to see them. His parents warmly welcome Wen Yifan while simultaneously nagging Sang Yan for being distant and not coming home often. They joke that if it weren't for Wen Yifan, they might not have had him home for New Year's Eve dinner. Sang Zhi, Sang Yan's sister, mentions how lost Sang Yan was after he and Wen Yifan broke up. She observes that the experience has changed him for the better, making him less arrogant and more caring towards others. He used to be the center of attention, but losing Wen Yifan humbled him.
During dinner, Sang Yan's mother can't help but stare at Wen Yifan, commenting on her beauty, which makes Wen Yifan blush. Wen Yifan clarifies that she and Sang Yan weren't romantically involved in high school, only getting together after they started working. Sang Yan's mother, however, knows her son's unwavering heart has always belonged to Wen Yifan. She then gives red envelopes (a traditional gift of money) to Sang Yan, Sang Zhi, and Wen Yifan, welcoming her to the family.
Originally, Wen Yifan was going to sleep in Sang Zhi's room, but Sang Zhi is busy having a long phone call with Duan Jiaxu. Wen Yifan sneaks into Sang Yan's room, where he's waiting for her. She tells him she'll call him "A-Yan" from now on and initiates a kiss, which Sang Yan reciprocates, agreeing to the new nickname.
While Wen Yifan is organizing her belongings, Sang Yan discovers a notebook with the name "Mu Chengyun" written inside, sparking a bit of jealousy. Wen Yifan playfully teases him, even revealing his secret fear of ghost movies. When Wen Yifan runs out of space in her suitcase, she uses Sang Yan's. She finds a hidden tin box filled with mementos from Sang Yan's trips to see her from afar, including clippings of all her published articles. Overwhelmed by the evidence of his enduring love, Wen Yifan tears up. She confesses that she saw him at her graduation ceremony but thought she was mistaken and regrets not approaching him.
Sang Yan wipes away her tears, pulls her onto his lap, and asks if she's done anything she feels guilty about. Wen Yifan nods, admitting that she once pretended to sleepwalk and hugged him before they officially got back together.
The episode concludes with a reveal: Sang Yan has set the passcode for their new home to the date of their first meeting. He's also decorated the house to resemble their previous one, ensuring Wen Yifan feels comfortable.
