In this episode, Wen Yifan's mom shows up at school in a BMW, urging her daughter to quit dancing due to the high costs. She compares Yifan's situation to that of Zheng Kejia, who needs to pursue art to get into college. Sang Yan witnesses this heartbreaking scene and, deeply moved, goes out of his way to cheer Yifan up. He finds and decorates a rooftop space where she can practice her dancing freely. Seeing Yifan happily dancing fills Sang Yan with joy.

Later, Yifan has a disturbing dream. She's awakened by pounding on the door, and her uncle and aunt burst in, claiming her mother sold her to them. They try to grab her, but Yifan desperately escapes. She finds herself in darkness, fearfully moving forward until she spots a light in the distance. Back in reality, Sang Yan, fresh out of the shower, is startled when Yifan enters his room. Ignoring his rambling, she gently rests her head on his chest. Sang Yan, flustered and thrilled, stands frozen. Yifan then quietly returns to her room, leaving Sang Yan sleepless and bewildered.

The next day, Sang Yan messages her, confused about her actions, but Yifan is clueless. When she sees Sang Yan restlessly fidgeting on the sofa, she asks if something's wrong. He presses her for an explanation, but Yifan, misinterpreting his concern, thinks he's upset about her not staying for the fireworks, calling him petty. Sang Yan is even more confused by her behavior. At work, Yifan discusses her dream with colleagues, describing a vast forest she navigated until finding the sun, which she embraced for warmth.

Meanwhile, Xiang Lang treats Zhong Siqiao to a meal, where Siqiao orders a couple's set. She confronts Xiang Lang about a bracelet he gave her on a past birthday, asking if it meant he liked her. After he denies it, Siqiao timidly asks about the possibility of a future relationship. Just then, Yifan arrives, revealing it's a three-person gathering. Xiang Lang clarifies that the bracelet was meant for Yifan, and he had asked Siqiao to give it to her. Siqiao, realizing she's been misreading the situation all along, takes off the bracelet and leaves.

That evening, Sang Yan subtly hints to Yifan about the irresponsibility of someone hugging a friend and then pretending nothing happened. Yifan, analyzing the situation, suggests that the girl in his scenario never explicitly expressed her feelings, implying his friend might be reading too much into it. Sang Yan is devastated by her response. Adding to his turmoil, Duan Jiaxu questions Sang Yan about his multiple trips to Yihe, leaving Sang Yan even more defensive.

Yifan later gently rejects Xiang Lang and goes drinking with Siqiao. They open up to each other and buy matching lily-of-the-valley bracelets. Siqiao asks if Yifan ever liked Sang Yan, and Yifan implicitly confirms it. When asked why they didn't get together, Yifan describes herself as cold and avoidant, believing someone like Sang Yan deserves to be loved passionately.
