Episode Summary
Tang Qi's desire to buy Fang Jin's patent is complicated by witnessing a fight between Fang Jin and her husband, Guan Shengyu, who now wants Tang Qi to testify in their divorce case. Su Chengcheng, working with her sister Su Qingli (Fang Jin's lawyer), tries to protect Fang Jin's interests and prevent the sale, even impersonating Fang Jin to influence Tang Qi. Meanwhile, a business deal is mixed with personal feelings, and the company takes a two-pronged approach to a project involving Fang Jin's patent, leading to Su Chengcheng joining a smaller team. The episode culminates in Su Chengcheng being forced to juggle her dual identity when she has to accompany Tang Qi to "meet" Fang Jin.

Su Qingli is picking up Su Chengcheng when she runs into Tang Qi. It turns out Tang Qi wants to buy the patent for a product developed by Fang Jin. To Su Qingli’s surprise, Tang Qi witnessed the whole incident where Su Chengcheng couldn't hold back and punched Guan Shengyu, meaning that he saw Fang Jin get violent with him. This is bad news for Fang Jin, who is trying to get a divorce. Su Chengcheng assures that Tang Qi won't testify for Guan Shengyu. Su Qingli also warns Su Chengcheng to make absolutely sure that Fang Jin's product isn't sold while Fang Jin is in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Lin Yuan arranges a dinner with Gu Yu at a romantic restaurant. Gu Yu feels something is off from the moment he arrives, and it turns out Lin Yuan is trying to channel a "domineering CEO" vibe. They hit it off, chatting and laughing, and Lin Yuan is especially happy because Gu Yu's insights helped her book get praised by her editor.
Tang Qi tells Gu Yu and Zhou Jinli about the situation with Guan Shengyu. Zhou Jinli asks if there are other options, but Tang Qi is insistent on buying Fang Jin's technology, believing it's best for the customers. Gu Yu points out that Guan Shengyu is the actual head of the company, meaning he decides what happens to the product. He argues that the divorce is a separate issue from the business deal, though he admits going through with it would be morally questionable, as Fang Jin, who was always in the lab, was likely outmaneuvered by Guan Shengyu. Their discussion is interrupted when Guan Shengyu himself shows up to meet with Tang Qi. Guan Shengyu, knowing Tang Qi witnessed the fight, asks him to testify about being domestically abused. Tang Qi hesitates, and Guan Shengyu tries to pressure him by using the product contract as leverage.
Su Chengcheng sees Guan Shengyu arrive at the company to talk to Tang Qi and tries to eavesdrop, but Tang Qi prevents it. Worried that Tang Qi will agree to Guan Shengyu's request, Su Chengcheng contacts Tang Qi pretending to be Fang Jin, and they arrange a meeting. Su Chengcheng, disguised as Fang Jin, meets with Tang Qi, but some awkward moments during the meeting make Tang Qi feel differently about "Fang Jin." "Fang Jin" gives Tang Qi documents detailing Guan Shengyu's abusive behavior, hoping to dissuade him from helping Guan Shengyu.
Gu Yu's client's daughter is a big fan of Lin Yuan, so the client asks Gu Yu to get Lin Yuan's autograph for her. Lin Yuan is touched by the father's dedication to his daughter and is happy to meet this young fan.
Su Chengcheng is at work when Su Qingli messages her, saying that Tang Qi and Guan Shengyu went to the police station, and the evidence is unfavorable to Fang Jin. She urges Su Chengcheng to keep a close eye on the patent. Su Chengcheng asks Tang Qi about buying the patent, and Tang Qi, guessing that Su Chengcheng's sister might be Fang Jin's lawyer, tells her to ask Su Qingli. It turns out that the statement in Lanzhou was helping Fang Jin, which is very bad for Guan Shengyu. After learning about Tang Qi's actions, Su Chengcheng's opinion of him changes again.
To mitigate risk, QianNiao Ji Company decides to implement two plans, led by Wang Yi and Xu Yue, respectively. Wang Yi is assigned to the plan involving Fang Jin's patent. Everyone is ordered to join Xu Yue's team, leaving Wang Yi feeling down. Su Chengcheng volunteers to join Wang Yi's team, which greatly cheers Wang Yi up.
Tang Qi wants to visit Fang Jin's lab, forcing Su Chengcheng to transform into Fang Jin again. To help Su Chengcheng avoid exposure, Su Qingli sends her information about the product. Su Chengcheng reluctantly studies it, and Tang Qi, passing by, sees her and assumes she's diligently working. The company decides to have Su Chengcheng accompany Tang Qi to meet Fang Jin. Su Chengcheng tries to refuse, but Wang Yi strongly recommends it. While Su Chengcheng is discussing the situation with Su Qingli and Lin Yuan, Tang Qi arrives, forcing her to play a double role.
