In a desperate attempt to convince Tang Qi, Su Chengcheng poses as a psychologist at a private hospital. The plan is to make Tang Qi believe that Fang Jin, the personality he's enamored with, has been "cured" and permanently removed. When Fang Jin emerges, claiming to be healed, Tang Qi is devastated. This means the Fang Jin he loved is gone forever. He stands outside the hospital room, lost in thought, while Su Chengcheng witnesses Fang Jin's own sadness, feeling a pang of guilt.

Later, Tang Qi walks along the beach, revisiting places where he shared memories with the Fang Jin he adored. Every expression, every movement of hers replays in his mind, but the woman he loves is no longer there. Lost in grief, he wanders through a crowd and suddenly spots a familiar figure. He desperately chases after her, but the figure vanishes. Overwhelmed by sorrow, Tang Qi's vision deteriorates – he can no longer see colors. The world turns into a bleak, black-and-white film. Panicked, he doesn't notice an oncoming car, but at the last moment, Su Chengcheng pulls him to safety. Strangely, while everything else appears colorless, Tang Qi sees Su Chengcheng in full color. As it starts to rain, Tang Qi, unable to distinguish the traffic lights, hesitates at a crosswalk. Su Chengcheng reappears, guiding him across the street.

Worried about Tang Qi, Su Chengcheng takes him home. She notices something is off, and when Tang Qi invites her inside—a stark contrast to his previous reluctance—she becomes even more suspicious. During dinner preparation, she realizes Tang Qi's problem might be related to color perception, but he skillfully masks his condition, making her doubt her observations. However, Tang Qi mimics Su Chengcheng's eating habits throughout the meal, further raising her suspicions.

Meanwhile, Lin Yuan prepares for a dinner hosted by her editor. Knowing she'll encounter a rival author at the gathering, she's anxious about how to handle the inevitable confrontation. Gu Yu, sensing her distress, uses kissing fish in an aquarium to inspire her, advising her to relax and stay calm.

Su Chengcheng calls Lin Yuan, claiming to be unwell after getting caught in the rain, and asks her to come pick her up. Simultaneously, Tang Qi calls Gu Yu. Both Lin Yuan and Gu Yu end up at Tang Qi's place. Su Chengcheng, having accidentally soiled Tang Qi's clothes, feels obligated to wash them at home, but Tang Qi simply throws them in the washing machine without a word.

Su Chengcheng learns that Lin Yuan and Gu Yu are together and curiously inquires about their closeness. Lin Yuan deflects the question, asking why Su Chengcheng hasn't distanced herself from Tang Qi and is instead at his house. Su Chengcheng explains her fear that Tang Qi might harm himself.

The next day, Tang Qi goes to the hospital for an eye exam. The tests reveal no physical problems, leading the doctor to suspect that Tang Qi's vision issues are psychological, stemming from recent stress. He recommends psychological treatment. Tang Qi reveals that he can see color in one person, and the doctor suggests this might be a subconscious cue, indicating that this person could be the key to unlocking his color vision again.
