Episode 19 of "Filter" throws a major wrench into Tang Qi's professional life. At a promotional event for QianNiao Ji, Tan Yu publicly reveals that Tang Qi is colorblind. This revelation is a huge problem, as many live-streaming influencers are present. The implication is immediate: if Tang Qi, the face of the company, can't distinguish colors, how can consumers trust QianNiao Ji's products?
Just as the situation spirals out of control, Su Chengcheng steps in with a pre-planned solution. She presents the event's makeup gift boxes and asks Tang Qi to do her makeup, a live demonstration to prove his abilities. Unbeknownst to everyone else, Tang Qi can only perceive colors on objects Su Chengcheng touches. He successfully describes and applies the makeup, seemingly disproving the colorblindness accusation.
Meanwhile, Gu Yu is practicing for a performance with Lin Yuan, but he's expecting Quan Shengtang to join them. Lin Yuan, covering for Su Chengcheng, stalls Gu Yu with various excuses.
After the makeup demonstration, Tang Qi, now aware of his selective color perception, questions Su Chengcheng about her connection to Quan Shengtang. He realizes he can only see colors when he is near Su Chengcheng or Quan Shengtang. Su Chengcheng also starts to suspect that her presence is linked to Tang Qi's vision issues. In a moment of realization, she pulls Tang Qi close, confirming that physical contact allows him to see colors. They share an embrace on an empty street, and Tang Qi's world bursts into color, only to revert to grayscale when they separate. Driven by a desire to permanently fix his vision, Su Chengcheng takes a bold step and kisses him on the cheek. This time, Tang Qi's color vision is fully restored. Overjoyed but embarrassed by her actions, Su Chengcheng runs off.
The episode takes another turn when Quan Shengtang's absence disrupts Gu Yu's performance plans. Lin Yuan continues to stall, and Gu Yu, though suspicious, doesn't press the issue, instead, he asks Lin Yuan to admit that they are dating. Just then, Quan Shengtang finally appears, leaving Gu Yu disappointed that his tactic didn't work.
During the performance, Tang Qi notices a pattern: Quan Shengtang is never present when Su Chengcheng is, and vice versa. He questions Gu Yu, who also realizes he's never seen them together. Observing Quan Shengtang's movements on stage, which resemble Su Chengcheng's, and recalling his color vision experiences, Tang Qi starts to doubt.
Tang Qi enlists Gu Yu and Zhou Jinli to help him uncover the truth. Su Chengcheng, believing everything is fine, receives a call from Lin Yuan, who suspects their secret is at risk. Su Chengcheng rushes back to the inn, only to be confronted by Tang Qi, who demands to know Quan Shengtang's whereabouts. Su Chengcheng plays dumb, and then uses a trick to make Tang Qi believe that she and Quan Shengtang are two separate people.
