Episode Summary
Su Chengcheng's bracelet malfunctions, forcing her to continue impersonating Quan Shengtang. Tang Qi witnesses a brief transformation during a thunderstorm, fueling his suspicion that they are the same person. After a series of deceptions and a faked death of Quan Shengtang, Tang Qi is left blaming himself, while further clues hint at the ongoing deception.

The episode kicks off with Su Chengcheng faking a low blood sugar episode, prompting a concerned Tang Qi to carry her back to her room. However, Lin Yuan shows up and scolds Tang Qi. To further dispel Tang Qi's suspicions, Su Chengcheng disguises herself as Quan Shengtang and calls Tang Qi, who is watching from across Su Chengcheng's room. Quan Shengtang supposedly left after the garden party, and Su Chengcheng is relieved she no longer has to switch between identities. But, when she tries to revert to her true self, her bracelet suddenly upgrades, forcing her to continue as Quan Shengtang.
To avoid blowing her cover, Lin Yuan tells Su Chengcheng to leave quickly. Just as Quan Shengtang is about to drive off, Tang Qi appears, wanting to join. A sudden thunderstorm hits, and Lin Yuan, worried about Su Chengcheng being alone in the rain, calls her. The call displays Lin Yuan's name on the car screen. Quan Shengtang answers, making up an excuse about Tang Qi being in the car, preventing Lin Yuan from revealing anything. Just when they think they're in the clear, Wang Yi calls. Quan Shengtang, knowing it's work-related, ignores the call, but Tang Qi picks up. Confused, Wang Yi follows Quan Shengtang's instructions to find Lin Yuan.
Lin Yuan, to avoid Gu Yu's suspicion, pretends to be afraid of the thunder and lightning, asking Gu Yu to escort her back to her room. Gu Yu senses a secret between Lin Yuan, Su Chengcheng, and Quan Shengtang, but Lin Yuan dodges his questions.
Quan Shengtang and Tang Qi take turns driving. During Tang Qi's shift, another thunderclap causes Quan Shengtang's face to briefly revert to Su Chengcheng's, which Tang Qi sees. Quan Shengtang lies, claiming that during the thunder, Tang Qi's face morphed into Gu Yu's. She acts frightened, leading Tang Qi to believe he's hallucinating. He comforts Quan Shengtang, assuring her that with treatment, she can recover.
The next day, Tang Qi looks for Su Chengcheng at work, only to learn she's taken sick leave. He recalls his doctor's visit, where he was told his eyes were perfectly healthy. His suspicions re-emerge. To investigate further, he gets Gu Yu to set up a dual-SIM phone and asks Wang Yi to the lab. He learns that Wang Yi was actually looking for Su Chengcheng the previous night. Tang Qi becomes increasingly convinced that Su Chengcheng and Quan Shengtang are the same person and goes to Su Chengcheng's home to find the truth.
Su Qingli tries to cover for her, leading Tang Qi away. Tang Qi keeps asking about Su Chengcheng's whereabouts, but Su Qingli avoids giving a direct answer. Tang Qi then questions her parents. Just as Su Qingli is at a loss, Su Chengcheng suddenly appears. To Tang Qi's further surprise, Quan Shengtang shows up too, though looking haggard and with a changed voice. This Quan Shengtang, having suddenly come into money, becomes agitated and falls seriously ill. Su Chengcheng takes him away in an ambulance and later texts Tang Qi, saying Quan Shengtang has passed away.
Tang Qi is devastated by Quan Shengtang's death, blaming himself. He believes that if he hadn't been so insistent on proving Su Chengcheng and Quan Shengtang were the same person, Quan Shengtang wouldn't have come out in his weakened state and might still be alive. Gu Yu comforts Tang Qi, pointing out that no one could have predicted this sudden turn of events. Gu Yu notices Quan Shengtang's blood on Tang Qi's clothes and suggests he change. When Tang Qi sees the writing on his clothes, he's stunned once again.
