Episode Summary
A thunderstorm causes Su Chengcheng's bracelet to malfunction, leading to chaotic identity swaps with Su Miao. The episode kicks off with Su Chengcheng working late at the office. A thunderstorm causes a malfunction with her bracelet, leading to a chaotic identity swap between Chengcheng and Su Miao. Chengcheng, terrified of being discovered, hides in a storage room after an encounter with Tang Qi. However, Tang Qi hears her. When he opens the door, Chengcheng, unsure of which identity she's currently embodying, tests the waters by asking Tang Qi if she's beautiful. Confirming she's currently Su Miao, she speaks to him in Miao's persona, even embracing him during a thunderclap to further conceal the identity shifts. Tang Qi, completely bewildered, wants to talk things out with Su Miao, but she knocks him out and flees to her best friend, Lin Yuan. In a twist of fate, Gu Yu also witnesses part of the strange encounter. Because the system is still upgrading, Su Miao is unable to change back to Su Chengcheng, and can not go home, so she asks Lin Yuan for help, and lies that she sleeps at Lin Yuan's house. Chengcheng's sister, Su Qingli, however, has a different opinion, telling her parents that she thinks Chengcheng is lying and that there must be something else going on, but neither father nor mother thinks so. Even if they understand Su Qingli's words, they still turn a blind eye to Su Chengcheng. Tang Qi, knocked unconscious, sleeps in the utility room and dreams of falling into Su Miao's arms. When he wakes up, he recalls the scene in the utility room when Su Miao closed the lights and hugged herself, which was very romantic and unforgettable for a long time.
The next morning, Tang Qi bumps into Gu Yu and relays the bizarre events of the previous night. He asks about Su Miao's attitude, and upon learning that Su Miao knocked him out and then went to Lin Yuan, Gu Yu also finds the whole situation suspicious. Gu Yu told Tang Qi that Su Miao was at Lin Yuan's house, and Tang Qi immediately went to Lin Yuan's house to find Su Miao. When they meet, Tang Qi questions Su Miao about why she hugged him and then knocked him unconscious. Su Miao lies, claiming she was drunk and that she hit Tang Qi with cosmetics. Tang Qi then asks Su Miao out for dinner that evening. Initially, Su Miao refuses, but Tang Qi's persistence forces her to agree. Unable to revert to her Su Chengcheng identity, she requests to work from home, drawing criticism from her colleagues. To complete a project, Chengcheng, in her own persona, asks Tang Qi for product information, but he doesn't reply for 20 minutes. However, when she asks as Su Miao, he responds instantly. Her best friend, unable to stand by, sends a message as Su Miao, revealing that she and Chengcheng are close friends, prompting Tang Qi to immediately send the information to Chengcheng.
That evening, Tang Qi takes Su Miao to a lavish dinner on a boat, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere. Su Miao initially plans to rebuff Tang Qi decisively, hoping to end their encounters for good. However, another thunderstorm strikes, causing the bracelet to malfunction again, and her identities begin to switch uncontrollably. To avoid being discovered, Su Miao, in the middle of Tang Qi's heartfelt confession, jumps into the river! Tang Qi, worried about Su Miao, jumps in after her, but can't catch up. Su Miao reaches the shore, finds Lin Yuan, gets in her car, and they quickly drive away. Tang Qi, emerging from the water and unable to find Su Miao, frantically calls her repeatedly.
Back at Lin Yuan's place, Su Miao recounts Tang Qi's confession before she jumped into the river, describing the romantic setting. While Lin Yuan is surprised, Su Miao dismisses it as unoriginal. As they're talking, Tang Qi arrives at Lin Yuan's, looking for Su Miao. Tang Qi believes Su Miao is facing some difficulty. To get rid of him, Lin Yuan lies, claiming Su Miao jumped into the river because of a hemorrhoid flare-up, leaving Su Miao mortified. However, Tang Qi smells the spicy crayfish, realizes Lin Yuan is lying, and insists on seeing Su Miao. Su Miao, in a panic to avoid him, tries to run upstairs but trips and falls. Hearing Su Miao's cry, Tang Qi, overcome with concern, barges in.
