Episode Summary
Gao Shubo hires Liang Jinqiu as a tax consultant, while she and Gao try to help Zhao Mingda with his daughter, Zhao Wan'er's, terminal illness and medical expenses. Zheng Tianchou also contributes his savings. Shi Haifeng investigates a coal trading company for fraud. Zhao Wan'er's condition worsens, and Chen Xiaoxing is deeply affected. The episode ends with Zhao Mingda and his family heading abroad for Zhao Wan'er's treatment, with friends seeing them off at the airport.

The episode opens with Gao Shubo hiring Liang Jinqiu as a tax consultant for his company. Liang Jinqiu readily accepts, planning to gather the necessary financial documents and spend a week reviewing them. Gao Shubo offers to take her to lunch, but Liang Jinqiu has plans to visit Zhao Mingda's daughter, Zhao Wan'er, in the hospital. Learning that Zhao Wan'er has a terminal illness, Gao Shubo is saddened and agrees to Liang Jinqiu's request to help find international specialists.
Liang Jinqiu wants to give Zhao Mingda 500,000 yuan to help with his daughter's medical expenses but worries he won't accept it. She learns that Zhao Mingda secured an 800,000 yuan venture capital project for Gao Shubo's company. She asks Gao Shubo to give the money to Zhao Mingda under the guise of the project, which he agrees to do. Meanwhile, Zheng Tianchou, hearing about Zhao Wan'er's condition, empties his savings – money he and his father had been saving for Zheng Hao's wedding – to contribute to her treatment. Zheng Tianchou doesn't want Chen Xiaoxing to know about Zhao Wan'er's illness. He cooks a meal and asks Zheng Hao to deliver it to the hospital.
Zhao Wan'er becomes suspicious because her parents have stopped pushing her to study since she was hospitalized. Chen Xiaoxing tries to reassure her. Zheng Hao arrives with the food and gives Zhao Mingda a bank card. Liang Jinqiu and Gao Shubo also visit. Zheng Hao excuses himself, claiming he has work to do. Feng Dakai arrives soon after, and Zhao Mingda realizes his wife called him. Feng Dakai immediately goes to see Zhao Wan'er.
Shi Haifeng is seen eating instant noodles at his desk, trying to hide it from his colleagues. Li Xinxin, noticing he didn't go to lunch, brings him braised pork. Shi Haifeng shares his suspicion about Weiyi'an Coal Trading Company, noting their unusual transactions of buying wood from furniture factories in Linzhou and selling coal to Shanxi. Li Xinxin agrees that it seems suspicious.
Zhan Yi and Xiao Si have been helping several furniture factories in Linzhou sell invoices, and they quickly run out. Lu Wangshui calls them, asking them to help Lao Chang, who's having trouble logging in the forest. Feng Dakai promises to find European specialists for Zhao Wan'er and arranges for her to be moved to a larger hospital room. Zhao Mingda and his wife are grateful. Chen Xiaoxing overhears their conversation and is devastated to learn about Zhao Wan'er's terminal illness.
Zhao Wan'er wakes up in the new room, disliking the color and feeling cold. Chen Xiaoxing comforts her. The hospital director informs Zhao Mingda that he needs two million US dollars to secure an imported injection for Zhao Wan'er. Feng Dakai offers to lend the money, but Zhao Mingda is reluctant, though he doesn't refuse outright. He plans to sell his house and car and borrow from friends. Liang Jinqiu returns with fruit to find Chen Xiaoxing missing. After a search, Liang Jinqiu finds him crying in a closet, overwhelmed by the news of Zhao Wan'er's condition.
Liang Jinqiu comforts Chen Xiaoxing and suggests he see a psychologist, especially given his childhood trauma of witnessing his parents' murder. Zheng Hao believes Chen Xiaoxing can overcome his trauma in time, but Liang Jinqiu, relating to the experience, insists on professional help. Zheng Hao notices Gao Shubo's affection for Liang Jinqiu and expresses his hope for their happiness.
Shi Haifeng, late for work due to a fever, is made to do push-ups by Zheng Hao. Shi Haifeng presents his findings on Weiyi'an Coal Trading Company's fraudulent invoices to Zheng Hao, who praises him. Captain Pan leads the operation, and with Zheng Hao's help, they arrest the company's boss, Yu Jianxin, who confesses and identifies Liu Erzhang as the person who always requested the invoices.
Captain Pan and Shi Haifeng locate Liu Erzhang, who is bedridden and unable to care for himself. They suspect someone is impersonating Liu Erzhang. A coal company employee mentions that the imposter resembles Da Fei.
Zhao Mingda and his wife prepare to take Zhao Wan'er abroad for treatment. Chen Xiaoxing, Liang Jinqiu, and Gao Shubo see them off at the airport. Zheng Hao is unable to join them due to work. Zhao Wan'er suspects the severity of her illness and pulls Chen Xiaoxing aside to ask. He deflects and tries to cheer her up.
