Gao Peng and Xiong Yi uncover a fake hot pot operation linked to Duoyuan Company. Zheng Hao and Li Dongjie raid Duoyuan's secret second sales office, discovering evidence of tax evasion. Feng Dakai schemes to exploit export tax rebates through his newly acquired company. Zhao Mingda suspects he's being used by Feng Dakai after seeing news of Xiao Yuwei's arrest. Zhao Wan'er struggles with her treatment, causing distress to Zhao Mingda and Shen Yue. Yang Zhiyuan confesses to tax evasion under interrogation.

In this episode, Zheng Hao, trying to save Gao Peng from embarrassment, takes him on an investigation of supermarkets and convenience stores. He encourages Gao Peng, telling him not to be discouraged and that every experience is valuable. He reminds him that Li Xinxin and Xiong Yi are his best friends, which warms Gao Peng's heart.
Later, Xiong Yi gives Gao Peng a ride home on his motorcycle. They find a dead rat at the door, a common occurrence for Gao Peng, who kicks the box containing it aside. Xiong Yi notes how desolate Gao Peng's place feels. Gao Peng avoids explaining, urging Xiong Yi to check on his motorcycle. Xiong Yi, worried, rushes out and throws the dead rat into a dumpster downstairs.
Xiong Yi and Gao Peng then go undercover at an internet cafe. The net cafe administrator recommends Duoyuan instant hot pot, which Gao Peng suspects is off. Xiong Yi immediately recognizes it as fake. They confront the net cafe owner, asking her to order more hot pot. After the owner calls, a delivery arrives. Zhao Yong and Gao Peng follow the delivery person, who enters a residential area. Gao Peng, ignoring the security guard, chases the delivery person, and Xiong Yi calls Zheng Hao to report.
Gao Peng tracks the delivery person to apartment 1204. Li Dongjie and Zheng Hao arrive with their team. The property staff doesn't know who lives in 1204. Xiong Yi, posing as a delivery guy, knocks on the door. It's an office with a blackboard showing Duoyuan Company's data. Xiong Yi reports this to Zheng Hao and Li Dongjie.
Zheng Hao and Li Dongjie knock on the door of 1204. The people inside panic, and someone tries to throw a computer out the window. Li Dongjie blocks the person, injuring his shoulder. Li Yong tries to delete data but is caught by Xiong Yi. Li Yong is forced to turn on the computer, revealing detailed sales records of Duoyuan Company, proving it is the company's secret second sales department. Li Dongjie returns home late, and his wife tends to his injured shoulder, complaining about his risky behavior.
That night, Zheng Hao calls Liang Jinqiu, asking her to attend Chen Xiaoxing's school celebration, which she agrees to. Feng Dakai has acquired Kebao Company, renaming it Qike, and puts Zhao Mingda in charge. He plans to use Qike's export qualifications to apply for tax rebates. Feng Dakai instructs Lu Wangshui to send people to gather information under two guises: first posing as those with invoices to inquire about the export market, and then as those with export goods to understand the tax rebate situation. This way, Feng Dakai gains a full understanding of the export tax rebate process.
Zhao Mingda sees news online about Xiao Yuwei's arrest for the alleged murder of Kun Shu. He recalls seeing Kun Shu, who had fainted due to low blood sugar, in the restroom. He suspects Feng Dakai is using him. Zhao Mingda visits Zhao Wan'er in the hospital but accidentally enters the wrong room, shocking him awake. He quickly finds Zhao Wan'er's room. Zhao Wan'er is suffering from the "neighboring bed" treatment and refuses to cooperate. Shen Yue tries to persuade her, but to no avail. Zhao Mingda orders Zhao Wan'er to accept the treatment, and she reluctantly agrees. Zhao Mingda is heartbroken seeing Zhao Wan'er's pain.
After Zhao Wan'er falls asleep, Shen Yue vents to Zhao Mingda about their financial struggles and the lack of hope. Zhao Mingda can only offer comforting words. Zheng Hao and Li Dongjie report the discovery of the second sales department to Xiao Yilin, revealing that Duoyuan Company is suspected of concealing income and tax evasion.
The Inspection Bureau notifies Hao Ren and Yang Zhiyuan to be investigated. Li Dongjie and Gao Peng interrogate Yang Zhiyuan, who, faced with solid evidence, confesses to concealing income and evading taxes.
