Jin Chengwu, focused solely on toy development, is oblivious to the shady financial dealings of his factory, managed by Supervisor She. She admits that the company issuing their invoices has vanished, raising concerns about potential investigations. Jin Chengwu, assured by Supervisor She that everything is fine, remains unconcerned.
Meanwhile, Zheng Hao, accompanied by Xiong Yi and Shi Haifeng, conducts a nighttime raid on the Jincheng factory. They discover the factory is a sham, with machines running but no workers present. Xiong Yi uncovers that Rongying Company, which was issuing fake invoices to Jincheng Company, is not registered in Xindong and has disappeared. Tracing Rongying's connections leads them to Mingge Alloy, which has abruptly closed down, effectively ending the evidence chain.
Zheng Hao shifts the investigation to logistics. Xiong Yi and Shi Haifeng face a mountain of paperwork at the logistics company, searching through countless export documents from Jincheng Company. Simultaneously, Li Dongjie investigates a lumber mill, suspecting it's not just making coffins as claimed by the evasive manager, Lin Jie. The mill consumes an enormous amount of wood—700,000 units annually. Li Dongjie, with Captain Pan and Zhu Xiaofei, attempts to apprehend Lin Jie, who flees.
A personal crisis hits Li Dongjie. His daughter, Nuonuo, develops a high fever, and his wife, already at the hospital caring for her mother, calls him. During the pursuit of Lin Jie, Li Dongjie drops his phone. Lin Jie is eventually caught, but Li Dongjie realizes his phone is missing. His wife, unable to reach him, calls her father, who is tragically hit by a car while going to pick up Nuonuo.
Li Dongjie finds his phone back at the lumber mill and rushes to the hospital. His wife, overwhelmed, unleashes her anger on him. He tries to appease her, but she's inconsolable. Nuonuo's fever persists, and Li Dongjie stays by her side until a work call forces him to leave, much to his wife's dismay.
Xiong Yi and Shi Haifeng finally locate the crucial Jincheng Company logistics documents. They report to Zheng Hao, who instructs them to track down the truck drivers. Meanwhile, Mr. Zeng, the owner of a discredited company, seeks help from Liang Jinqiu and Yu Dana. His project manager issued fake invoices, landing the company on a tax violation blacklist, ruining their credit and chances for project bids.
Liang Jinqiu, unfamiliar with the new credit repair policy, hesitates, but Yu Dana is reluctant. However, moved by Mr. Zeng's desperation, Liang Jinqiu agrees to take the case. Zheng Hao, grateful for Liang Jinqiu's help with Chen Xiaoxing, treats him to dinner. Chen Xiaoxing, showing significant improvement except in math, tries to play matchmaker between them.
Zhao Mingda, desperate to pay for his daughter Zhao Wan'er's medical treatment, colludes with Feng Dakai in a fraudulent export tax rebate scheme. Liang Zhongwei and Zheng Tianchou, having reconciled, become close friends, sharing cooking tips. Zheng Hao discovers that the truck used by Jincheng Company was rented from Yunan Car Rental. He and Xiong Yi travel to Yunan.
In Yunan, they track down the driver, Zhang Shao, who reveals the truck's GPS data was wiped. Zhang Shao directs them to the previous renter, Lao Wang, who is in Xindong caring for his wife. Zheng Hao and Xiong Yi find Lao Wang, learning he used the truck to transport goods from Annan. This leads them to uncover Jincheng Company's scheme of using goods from their Annan factory to fraudulently claim export tax rebates. Jin Chengwu and Supervisor She are taken in for questioning, and Supervisor She confesses.
At an awards ceremony, Zheng Hao, still reviewing the case, suspects Jincheng Company wasn't the mastermind and believes Mingge Alloy is the true culprit. He's called to the ceremony by Xiong Yi. Li Dongjie is recognized for his outstanding work, but the celebration is cut short when he receives a divorce message from his wife.
Finally, Zhao Mingda completes his first fraudulent export tax rebate transaction. Feng Dakai praises him, promising to establish Kaida Company and an educational institution for Zhao Mingda. However, Zhao Mingda wants out and demands his promised 14 million yuan.
