Episode Summary
Rong Shu Kuang becomes increasingly convinced that Chu Tian Yao and Yan Shao are the same person. She tries various schemes to expose him, including confronting him, attempting to remove his mask, and making him jealous by declaring her love for Chu Tian Yao while reminiscing about Yan Shao. Yan Shao, in turn, struggles with his dual identity and growing jealousy, playing along with Rong Shu Kuang's games while secretly angered by her apparent affection for his alter ego. Lin Wan Ci is revealed to be going to Mount Mogya, and Yan Shao plans to use his dual identity to his advantage. The episode culminates in Rong Shu Kuang confirming her suspicions through Chu Tian Yao's heartbeat, setting the stage for further conflict and romantic entanglement.

Disappointed after his visit with Chu Tian Yao, Rong Shu Kuang returns to his quarters. He's met by his concerned friends, Tang Ying Luo and Lin Shao Ci. Rong Shu Kuang explains that he went to see Chu Tian Yao and learned that Lin Wan Ci is safe, thanks to a message delivered by Yan Shao. However, Yan Shao's current whereabouts are unknown. Rong Shu Kuang notes that Chu Tian Yao seemed unusually weak and frail, "like an old man," which puzzles everyone, given Chu Tian Yao's mysterious reputation. Rong Shu Kuang retreats to his room, deep in thought.
Meanwhile, Shang Guan Tong delivers Liu An's body back to Longyue Village. On the way back, he learns that the Junshan Sect has been destroyed, leaving him heartbroken. Yan Shao comforts Shang Guan Tong, and Feng Ming reveals a huge secret: Yan Shao and Chu Tian Yao are the same person. Feng Ming urges Shang Guan Tong to keep this confidential, especially from Rong Shu Kuang.
Elsewhere, Shen Zui Tian receives a letter from Lin Wan Ci, delivered by Bai Gui Ye Ku(the name means The White Wraith's Nocturne). The letter proposes a meeting at Mount Mogya to discuss a treasure. Shen Zui Tian is visibly pleased.
Back at the manor, Rong Shu Kuang starts piecing things together. He pointedly asks Wen Zhu if Yan Shao and Chu Tian Yao are the same person. Wen Zhu believes they are different, citing their distinct personalities, and says Yan Shao is better than Chu Tian Yao. Rong Shu Kuang remains unconvinced. He then has Wen Zhu help him dress up in a more feminine style, intending to visit Chu Tian Yao again. However, he runs into Lin Shao Ci, who compliments her appearance and gifts her a hairpin with a snowflake design – a pattern Rong Shu Kuang loves. Rong Shu Kuang, who sees Lin Shao Ci as a brother figure, accepts the gift gratefully.
Later, Rong Shu Kuang goes to a valley, where Chu Tian Yao appears. He immediately notices the snowflake hairpin. Rong Shu Kuang admits it was a gift from Lin Shao Ci. She then presses Chu Tian Yao about his identity and why he always wears a mask. Chu Tian Yao offers to watch the rainbow with her. Rong Shu Kuang stares intently at Chu Tian Yao, noticing his eyes resemble Yan Shao's. She reaches out to remove his mask, wanting honesty, but Chu Tian Yao warns that if the mask comes off, he won't answer any questions about Yan Shao. Rong Shu Kuang hesitates, then asks about Yan Shao's location. Chu Tian Yao remains silent, only stating his genuine feelings for Rong Shu Kuang and his willingness to wait until she gets over her feelings for someone else. Rong Shu Kuang, frustrated, continues to press for Yan Shao's whereabouts, but Chu Tian Yao refuses to answer, leading her to call him an "old fox."
After returning, Rong Shu Kuang analyzes portraits of Yan Shao and Chu Tian Yao, noting their similarities. She decides to make Rou Jia Mo (a type of meat-filled bun) in the kitchen, nearly setting it on fire. Chu Tian Yao rushes in to save her from the smoke-filled room. However, when Rong Shu Kuang wakes up, Tang Ying Luo tells her that Feng Ming brought her back.
Rong Shu Kuang takes the Rou Jia Mo to Chu Tian Yao, hoping to share it with him. She openly talks about her past with Yan Shao. Chu Tian Yao is reluctant to listen, but Rong Shu Kuang persists. As she recounts their shared history, Chu Tian Yao is visibly affected, his thoughts drifting back to their time together. However, he deliberately cuts her off with cold words.
Rong Shu Kuang then devises a plan. She asks Chu Tian Yao to take the plate of Rou Jia Mo, hoping to use the opportunity to remove his mask and reveal Yan Shao's face. She's lost in her own fantasy, but Chu Tian Yao easily evades her attempt. Rong Shu Kuang, off-balance, stumbles and falls, her yell echoing through the manor.
Lin Qian Yi is going to meet with Tian Gang and the Six Major Sects to form a martial arts alliance. He stops by Wu Qing House to find Lin Wan Ci, hoping she'll return to Yu Chi Manor. Lin Wan Ci begs to go to Mount Mogya with him, and Lin Qian Yi reluctantly agrees. During a break, Lin Qian Yi expresses regret that his daughter's poor health prevents her from learning martial arts and experiencing the world. Lin Wan Ci expresses her desire to be like Rong Shu Kuang.
Knowing Rong Shu Kuang suspects him, Yan Shao decides to reappear as Yan Shao to dispel her doubts. He puts on his familiar red outfit and talks with Shang Guan Tong, ensuring Rong Shu Kuang sees them. Rong Shu Kuang rushes to call out to Yan Shao, but he runs away. She immediately goes to Chu Tian Yao's room, where he's changed into black clothes, pretending he never left. Still determined, Rong Shu Kuang tries to grab his mask. They struggle, falling together, with Chu Tian Yao landing on top of Rong Shu Kuang. The moment triggers memories of their past intimacy. Rong Shu Kuang, feeling Chu Tian Yao's heartbeat, is certain that he is Yan Shao.
Afterward, Rong Shu Kuang tells Shang Guan Tong that she's breaking things off with Yan Shao and will focus on her husband, Chu Tian Yao. When Shang Guan Tong relays this to Yan Shao, he's furious, believing Rong Shu Kuang has moved on. Feng Ming points out Yan Shao's jealousy, despite being the same person as Chu Tian Yao. Shang Guan Tong then asks, on Rong Shu Kuang's behalf, what kind of woman Chu Tian Yao likes. Chu Tian Yao, playing along, tells Shang Guan Tong to inform Rong Shu Kuang that he prefers women skilled in singing, dancing, writing, and calligraphy.
Rong Shu Kuang immediately starts practicing calligraphy, presenting her written character "Kuang" to Chu Tian Yao. She invites him to meet her at a waterfall. There, she performs a dance for him and has Tang Ying Luo create a fragrance that attracts butterflies. However, the butterflies turn out to be bees. Knowing the fragrance is on her clothes, Chu Tian Yao tells her to remove them, covering them both with his robe, reminding them of a time they hid from a sandstorm together. Rong Shu Kuang clings to Yan Shao, hoping the bees stay longer. Yan Shao complains that Rong Shu Kuang is attracting unwanted attention. Rong Shu Kuang also prepares a rainbow cake for Chu Tian Yao, referencing their shared rainbow viewing, and declares that her heart now belongs only to Chu Tian Yao. Yan Shao is visibly angered, clenching his fist, upset that Rong Shu Kuang's affections are solely for Chu Tian Yao, seemingly forgetting Yan Shao.
Rong Shu Kuang deliberately tells Chu Tian Yao to take the cake away to enjoy later. Watching him leave, she's delighted, knowing she's successfully making the "old fox" jealous and angry.
When Rong Shu Kuang returns, she encounters Lin Shao Ci. He notices she's wearing Chu Tian Yao's robe and asks what happened. Rong Shu Kuang explains about the bees and emphasizes her devotion to Chu Tian Yao, claiming to have forgotten Yan Shao. Lin Shao Ci feels it's unfair to Yan Shao.
Back in his room, Yan Shao is furious, believing Rong Shu Kuang's heart now belongs only to Chu Tian Yao. Feng Ming tries to eat the cake, but Yan Shao angrily tells him to feed it to the dogs. Fei Wu arrives, reporting that Lin Shao Ci and others are requesting a meeting. Chu Tian Yao agrees, feeling it's time.
