Love and Sword: Episode 7

Spoiler Alert

This episode of "Love and Sword" is packed with intrigue, betrayal, and shifting alliances, all centered around the coveted treasure and the power struggle in the martial arts world.

Lin Wan Ci's Ambition:

Lin Wan Ci, seemingly frail, reveals a ruthless side. She's secretly colluding with Shen Zui Tian to eliminate all the martial arts figures who have gathered at Yu Chi Manor. Her goal? To establish Yu Chi Manor as the undisputed supreme power. Shen Zui Tian is taken aback by her cold-blooded ambition, recognizing that her delicate appearance hides a truly merciless nature. Lin Wan Ci justifies her actions with a "survival of the fittest" philosophy, claiming that the supposedly righteous martial artists are hypocrites. She believes that once Yu Chi Manor rules the martial world, no one will dare challenge them. She even dismisses Shen Zui Tian's usefulness, stating that if she were healthy, she wouldn't need his help at all.

Yan Shao's Suspicion:

Yan Shao, ever watchful, suspects Lin Wan Ci is up to something. He discreetly sends his subordinates to search her room, but Shen Zui Tian manages to escape before they arrive.

The Gathering Storm:

A major gathering of martial arts masters has convened at Yu Chi Manor. Even reclusive figures like Tang Chan Yi (head of the Tang Clan) and Jiang Cheng (leader of Qian Xing Hall) are present. Manor Lord Lin welcomes them with feigned warmth, but everyone knows the real reason for the gathering: the legendary treasure. The guests quickly cut to the chase, demanding to know the treasure's location. Manor Lord Lin claims he called them all together to discuss this very matter and suggests they rest while he formulates a long-term plan.

Tang Ying Luo's Dilemma:

Behind the scenes, Tang Ying Luo's elder sister from the Tang Clan offers her a love potion, hoping to help her win the affections of Lin Shao Ci, whom she has long admired. However, Tang Ying Luo believes that true love shouldn't be forced in this way.

Lin Shao Ci's Feelings:

Manor Lord Lin discusses the current situation with his son, Lin Shao Ci. They acknowledge that they can't trust anyone among the gathered guests, whether friend or foe. The Manor Lord also inquires about Lin Shao Ci's romantic interests, noting that both Yu Ling Long and Tang Ying Luo have pursued him for years. Lin Shao Ci admits his growing feelings for Rong Shu Kuang, revealing that he now wants to protect her, a shift from his earlier reliance on her strength.

Rong Shu Kuang's Disguise and the Xuan Hong Flower Festival:

Rong Shu Kuang, dressed as a dashing swordsman, shows off her new outfit to Yan Shao, who approves. The annual Xuan Hong Flower Festival begins, a lively event with a red flower suspended in the center. Rong Shu Kuang encounters Jiang Ru Hai, whom she injured in a previous competition, but has no memory of him. Yan Shao smooths things over, and Rong Shu Kuang, feeling guilty, promises compensation if Yan Shao wins this year. A chance encounter with a child carrying a fire-starter leads Rong Shu Kuang on a chase, suspecting something is amiss. She is protected by Feng Ming, one of Yan Shao's subordinates.

Hidden Danger and Secret Meetings:

Rong Shu Kuang and Feng Ming discover a severely injured man hidden nearby. They agree to take him to a local innkeeper, Li Hua Bai, for care. Unbeknownst to them, the child Rong Shu Kuang was chasing and Qian Jin Xiao are secretly working for Shen Zui Tian of the Ghost Valley Alliance, plotting their next move.

Festival Competitions and Growing Suspicions:

The Xuan Hong Flower Festival competitions begin. Rong Shu Kuang, usually the star of the festival, is unable to participate due to her health. Tang Ying Luo encourages her to join the poetry competition. Yan Shao wins the first two rounds, one involving identifying a type of wine and the other a poetry challenge (with Lin Wan Ci stepping in for Rong Shu Kuang). Lin Wan Ci's sudden coughing fit prompts concern, but she insists on resting in a nearby carriage.

The Dying Man and the Climax:

The injured man Li Hua Bai took in dies from poisoning, leaving behind a cryptic bloodstain shaped like the number "one." Meanwhile, news arrives that Lin Wan Ci has disappeared from her carriage. Manor Lord Lin rushes off to find her. As Yan Shao is about to claim the flower ball, signifying his victory, Rong Shu Kuang realizes that the Ghost Valley Alliance members are present and that the fire-starters, combined with flammable materials, are part of a trap. The falling flower ball is the signal to ignite the area. She identifies Jiang Ru Hai as a traitor and warns Lin Shao Ci. Lin Shao Ci confronts Yan Shao, realizing he is also involved. Rong Shu Kuang steps forward, appealing to Yan Shao's supposed concern for others, and asks him to hand over the flower ball.
