Due to a belief that Yu Jin's astrological chart clashed with his own, he sent his young daughter, Yu Jin, away from the palace. This act of perceived rejection profoundly shaped Yu Jin's upbringing, personality, and ultimate trajectory, and it had a big impact on her growth.

Zhang Chi as Jiang Zhan
Jiang Zhan is the older brother of Jiang Si. He's a spirited and ambitious young man, determined to change the fate of his family, especially his sister's. Driven by a strong desire to lift his family out of the control of the manipulative Madame Xiao, Jiang Zhan sets his sights on becoming a Captain in the prestigious Capital Guard.
To achieve this, he dedicates himself to preparing for the triennial Grand Examination at the training grounds. Although he faces defeat in the martial arts competition, his unwavering spirit and resilience shine through. He's not one to give up easily, demonstrating a tenacity that defines his character.

Xu Hao as Cui Ming Yue

Bai Bingke as Lu Chuchu
Lu Chuchu is the spirited and outgoing best friend of Jiang Si. Known for her cheerful and generous personality, Chuchu is a constant source of support and friendship in Jiang Si's life. She's not just a close confidante; she actively helps Jiang Si whenever challenges arise, demonstrating the depth of their bond. Chuchu also has a lively, "frenemies"-to-lovers dynamic with Jiang Si's brother, Jiang Zhan, adding a layer of comedic and romantic tension to the story. She is a support role in the series.

Ma Su as Madam Xiao

Wu Mian as Old Madam Jiang
Old Madam Jiang is the highest-ranking member of the Dongping Marquis household, a figure of considerable authority and respect. As the family matriarch, she has witnessed the family's ups and downs, and she is a staunch upholder of traditional family values, playing a key role in maintaining order within the clan. She possesses a strong will and decisive nature when it comes to family matters. Her influence is so significant that when Jiang Si attempts to call off her engagement, others try to use the Dowager's authority to stop her, highlighting the Dowager's power in family decisions.
However, amidst the complex web of family conflicts, it seems she may not be fully aware of the mistreatment Jiang Si and her mother endure at the hands of the Dowager's daughter-in-law, Madam Xiao. Or due to various considerations, she has not provided enough protection for Jiang Si. It is possible, due to various considerations, that she may not have extended sufficient protection to Jiang Si. Nevertheless, her deep concern for the family's continuation and reputation leads her to make crucial decisions at key moments, indirectly shaping the destinies of Jiang Si and others.
