The first branch of the family, along with Yu Qi, celebrates Jiang Zhan's new position at a restaurant. Meanwhile, the second branch of the family dines together, but Jiang Qiao is heartbroken and refuses to eat. Madam Ruan pleads with Jiang Anmou to prevent Jiang Qiao from marrying a sick man. Jiang Anmou confronts Madam Xiao, but she insists on arranging the marriage, having already sent a letter of proposal with the family's official seal to the Xiao family.

Secret Loves and Hidden Identities: Jiang Si attempts to send a letter to Yu Qi to arrange a meeting, but the letter is intercepted by members of the Nightingales. The interceptor brings the letter to Liu Yan'er. Because Jiang Si previously inquired about the Saintess, impersonated Zhao Yu, and knew Liu Yan'er's incense recipe, Liu Yan'er suspects Jiang Si is connected to the Saintess, or perhaps is the Saintess herself. Yu Qi recognizes Jiang Si's handwriting on the letter. Long Dan suspects Jiang Si is the Southern Wu Saintess, but Yu Qi believes there might be another explanation. Long Dan sees Yu Qi's feelings for Jiang Si and asks him what he would do if she truly was the Saintess. Madam Xiao, under the guise of delivering something to the old madam, secretly has her servant stamp a blank piece of paper with the family seal.
