Spoiler Alert
In Episode 18 of "Good Will Society," things take a dramatic turn for several characters. Xiao Jing's condition is critical, but she refuses to contact her family, causing Qin Wenbin considerable stress. Jiang Xue visits the hospital again, this time with a hidden recording device to gather evidence. Wu Dachuan, spotting Jiang Xue, confronts Qin Wenbin, mistakenly believing he leaked Xiao Jing's private information to Pan Yue.
In a fit of rage, Wu Dachuan publicly insults Pan Yue, accusing her of infidelity and making crude remarks. Qin Wenbin tries to maintain professionalism for the sake of patient relations, but his anger boils over. Just as he's about to retaliate physically, Wu Dachuan loses his balance and falls. At that moment, Qin Wenbin receives an urgent call from Xiao Xu: Xiao Jing has developed a serious complication – a uterine contraction issue – triggered by Jiang Xue's confrontation. Jiang Xue reveals her marriage certificate to Xiao Jing, confirming that she and Wu Dachuan are still legally married.
While Xiao Jing fights for her life in surgery, Wu Dachuan is preoccupied with damage control, trying to smooth things over with Jiang Xue. He suggests they raise the child together and offer Xiao Jing financial compensation. Jiang Xue, disgusted by his callousness, refuses to listen and informs him that she's already scheduled an appointment at the Civil Affairs Bureau, implying she intends to divorce him and leave him with nothing.
After the baby is delivered and taken to the neonatal unit, Wu Dachuan rushes to see the child. However, Xiao Jing experiences further complications during surgery. Qin Wenbin instructs Xiao Xu to find a family member to authorize a do-not-resuscitate order, but Wu Dachuan is nowhere to be found. Xiao Jing's parents have been contacted but won't arrive until the next day. With Xiao Jing's life hanging in the balance, Qin Wenbin makes a last-ditch effort, whispering to her that her child is waiting. Miraculously, Xiao Jing's heartbeat returns, and the medical team manages to save her.
Meanwhile, Liu Ziyi, Wang Gaosheng, and Gu Shiyi are eating in the cafeteria when they meet Ding Hao, a freelance photographer. Wang Gaosheng, ever the opportunist, sees a chance for Ding Hao to take some photos for them. During their conversation, Ding Hao addresses Liu Ziyi informally, prompting Wang Gaosheng to tease him about his lack of respect. Gu Shiyi, however, understands the implication: "If a younger guy doesn't call you 'older sister,' he's probably interested." Jiang Yu, inspired by this, bravely calls Gu Shiyi by her name and asks if she wants a drink. Wang Gaosheng and Liu Ziyi immediately tease the pair, leaving the usually confident Gu Shiyi flustered.
Later, Liu Ziyi overhears gossip about Qin Wenbin and, concerned, learns from Xiao Xu that he's in the neonatal unit. She finds Qin Wenbin in a distressed state. Her father calls, inviting her and Qin Wenbin to dinner to thank them, hosted by Aunt Jiang. They agree to go, but just as they're leaving the hospital, several ambulances arrive with victims of a nearby traffic accident. The hospital initiates an emergency response, and Liu Ziyi receives a call from Gu Shiyi, confirming that she and Qin Wenbin can't leave.
