Episode Summary
Zhang Yun initially refuses to consent to her abusive father's surgery but eventually relents after a conversation with Liu Ziyi. Xiaoxiao's mother invites Pipi to Xiaoxiao's birthday party, providing a moment of joy amidst their health struggles. Qin Wenbin is impressed by Liu Ziyi's surgical skills.

Jiang Yu, wanting to show his appreciation to Wang Gaosheng, tries to recruit more members for the running club. He approaches Gu Shiyi, who surprisingly agrees. Already a fitness enthusiast, Shiyi figures she might as well run with the club since she hits the gym regularly anyway.
Meanwhile, a difficult situation unfolds at the hospital. Zhang Yun is called in again regarding her father, Zhang Chengpeng's, surgery, but she continues to refuse to sign the consent form. The hospital assigns Qin Wenbin, known for his high emotional intelligence, and his student Xiao Xu to talk to her. However, even Qin Wenbin's usual "magic" fails to sway Zhang Yun. The reason for her reluctance is deeply rooted in her past. Zhang Chengpeng was an abusive alcoholic, and Zhang Yun vividly remembers her father's drunken rages against her and her mother. Now that he's sick and reaching out, she refuses to help.
As Zhang Yun leaves in the elevator, Liu Ziyi spots her. Zuo Feng had just bought Liu Ziyi a coffee, which she initially didn't want. Seeing Zhang Yun, she grabs the coffee from Zuo Feng and goes to talk to her. Their conversation, woman to woman, hits a nerve. Liu Ziyi, understanding that she's just a doctor with no right to judge, doesn't try to persuade Zhang Yun from a moral standpoint. She simply focuses on her duty to save lives. She hints that she understands Zhang Yun's past trauma but emphasizes that everyone gets old and sick eventually, and she hopes Zhang Yun won't regret her decision in the future.
Later, Zhang Yun signs the consent form, giving Liu Ziyi a win over Qin Wenbin. Xiao Xu is surprised by the sudden change, as the initial conversation was unsuccessful. Qin Wenbin, believing his words had an impact, claims that "no move is the best move."
In a heartwarming subplot, Xiaoxiao's mother is cooking when she runs into Pipi's mother. Pipi's condition hasn't been improving, and his mother is understandably distressed. Xiaoxiao's mom, knowing they share a similar struggle, invites Pipi and his mother to Xiaoxiao's upcoming birthday party to lift their spirits. Liu Ziyi, learning about Xiaoxiao's birthday during her rounds, promises to celebrate with her after her surgery. She even takes the extra step of ordering a special birthday cake, carefully considering Xiaoxiao's dietary restrictions as a doctor.
Nan Xing, passing by Pipi's room, sees him struggling to blow up balloons due to his condition. His mother is helping him. Nan Xing contacts his mother and gets some balloon pumps and balloons. He and Pipi blow up balloons together. Later, Pipi takes him to Xiaoxiao's birthday party.
The episode culminates with Zhang Chengpeng's surgery. Qin Wenbin performs the first part, encountering a minor complication but ultimately succeeding. Qin Wenbin is captivated by Liu Ziyi's skill. He watches her perform the interventional procedure in the observation room, and he is impressed by her performance. Qin Wenbin finds himself starting to admire Liu Ziyi.
